Not sure what really to write...

Okay, so I guess I'll start off with the whole "New to vaping" aspect to get off analogs, but as usual, worried about if I'm making the right decisions (which lead me here thing). Then I'll proceed to the have the blu batteries/pack (because not a huge fan of bulky things in my pockets and really not a 'manual' person). I can also follow that with having an understanding between 501s and 808s (research is FUN!)

Now that you know my mentality (research before posting), I guess that's about it, except that my partner had recently undergone a quadruple bypass, and we're still in the 70/30 phase of analogs/vaping, and I am trying my hardest to get us BOTH to straight up vaping instead of analogs (let's face it, 2 flavors vs .... insert imagination gone wild).

So I'll probably make some stupid post about something (I'm good for it), and probably ask a question that's been asked once or twice (about 6+ months back, but subjective because if I don't feel a post is going the direction that I am looking at for myself, I'll subject it to my situation), but I'm really a laid back person.

Other than that, not much more to me. Now I just need to figure out how to pull flavor and nicotine and not be bulky as *insert word choices here*.

Thanks (so far), and like I said, considering everything, I know that switching will be an arduous task, but hey, with health issues abound, I would rather work towards saving money (and our health) vs. staying on analogs and smelling ... well ... let's just say there are a couple of words that can be used to describe it, LOL.

Right now I am looking at a variety of things (various vape PVs, cost, flavors, etc...), I can see why it can be extremely confusing to someone that is new to it. I know I have a sample pack from a company (Johnson Creek) that is sitting there...basically 'steeping' if you will, at a 1.8% that has a severe throat hit (harsh, and they are 100% VG, so that's doubly odd), which is driving me nuts, plus about 50+ cartomizers (501s of course).

I guess it's just one of those things to finding the right balance.

The MAIN issue that I am finding right now is that the 'flavor' doesn't last. It seems as if though the first few hits are nice, but then it's like sucking in air (but with the massive vapor cloud).

Oh well, I'll make a new post in the hopefully appropriate thread after this, but just pointing out an issue that I'm seeing.

maybe look at a ego starter twin kit for you and the miss, them blu lookalike ecigs I find worthless and dont work that good for me. im useing a ego ecig with a clearomizer and its great, all you do is charge it and put e liquid in the top part and its great. I find with this set up I get great flavour as a beginner and works better then the blu, I think many would agree that egos are great for people loooking to get really started into vapeing. the blu are good to get you into the idea but dont really satisfy you as good as a ego.

Just a note here, vg takes a really long time to steep properly & using carto's you may need to refresh them often.
You might be interested in some of the new e-roll kit's if you want a cig-a-like set-up, friend's really like them & have had great success with them:)
    Welcome & good luck!

welcome to the forum! I started with a Blu kit as well. I made a little over a week before I needed something a little better. I had to get over the "must look and feel like a cig" aspect as well. you may look at a simple kit like this:

eGo Q/K build your own kit

The owner of this store is super nice and is very helpful, plus he puts handwritten notes in with your order, a nice touch if you ask me.

It's 2 manual 1100mah batteries ( one battery lasts me all day on a charge), 2 iclear 16's (replaceable atomizer), 2 juices, a charger and a case. I did buy an ego lanyard for when I am out and about and don't want to carry the case around, or my wife won't put it in her purse. Since there is two of you, it might work great. I have been using mine for about a month now and love it. I am not into mods and VV/VW or anything like that so the ease is what I like most.

As far as cost, Minus some replacement atomizers and some more juice, I will break even in two weeks. So this has been very cost efficient for me. The trick to that is set a budget and stick with it. Save upgrades and non essentials for Bdays and christmas :)

Other than that, ask away here, there are lots of folks with lots of knowlage.....

Blu is where a lot of people start, but most quickly discover there are better delivery devices and, better batteries out there that are less costly and, easier to deal with.

Yes now it means a lot to you that it at least mostly resembles an analog but, in time, a short time, that won't matter as long as it's a good vape. And, after a few of those auto batteries die after a couple of months because they got too much juice in them, you'll see why most of us prefer to push the button on a manual battery.

Another thing you will find is that for a some of us it was really easy to drop analogs entirely very quickly but, not so for others. Don't beat yourself up over having a smoke. You do have some very good motivators to help you get off analogs and, I think when you find a more effective delivery device (that's the top/filter part) you won't have any trouble leaving analogs alone.

Sorry it took me awhile to get back to this, but this thing called 'sleep' and then trying to re-find my thread was fun while half asleep, LOL. Anyway, if I missed someone, then sorry. :glare:

What is this K1, K2, K3, etc... thing? Is that the outside design of the product? And I agree with the mods/etc because I much prefer ease over having a complex configuration (at least right now!) and of course, with this type of thing, I would definitely be on here going "How in the **** do I do this now???" LOL

Well I am looking at 70/30 vg/pg or even 50/50, but right now, since we're still fairly new to this kind of thing, we are trying to find the right balance for us. :)

Yeah, I mean I LIKE blu, but once I learned they used the 510 (which is nice), I did more digging and found a whole other world. Plus also, I'm nosy that way. This purchase of blu was a spur of the moment because of the heart surgery thing since there is no smoking on hospital campuses in this state.

I guess I can't leave certain things alone, but in this case, it's apparently a GOOD thing. :)

I would have to look, but right now I know I do need an automatic before going to manual to work my way to it.

Marcus you are definitely in the right place. These folks have so much awesome knowledge to help you and your partner find all your answers. I am new myself (a month without cigs on Sunday!!!) and I will never go back. My boss is trying too but is having a hard time making the transition. I keep telling her that every cig she does not light is a victory. So start there and the best of luck to both of you!:D

    Marcus,

I think that you should gve a try to an ego twist. still farley small but has a lot better proformance than the blu. It is also variable voltage and that is a plus. You can vape at just a tiny bit higher voltage and get much better results. Also I would get a Kanger EVOG. It is a clearomiser (a kind of tank ) it holds a lot more juice than a carto and it has muck, much better proformance. the better the vape the sooner you will be able to give up the analoges. By the way if you look carefully for a deal this set up will be cheaper to buy than a full BLU set up.You will get much better results with a better set up and wil be off the analoges in no time. It took me one day after I got off the cigalike onto an Ego.

LOL...I was actually looking at that and the ONLY thing (and I know this may sound extremely stupid, but call me paranoid) is the disclaimer of:

Use special caution when working with Li-ion cells, they are very sensitive to charging characteristics and may explode or burn if mishandled.

What are the actual numbers of this type of thing happening? Granted I read the whole thing, I know that blu uses Li-Ion batteries, but I charge it through their charging pack and it auto-shuts off. What are the options with this particular thing? I mean, I'm very open to the change, but I need to do more looking into/research about it. :)

EDIT: Okay, so I did my research and the only REAL issue with things is modding them Considering that Li-Ion batteries are used in...well, everything, I feel it's safe enough. I think I can take that as "It's okay, just use common sense you ......" (said to myself of course, LOL)

So for a noob like me, what are the best options? I was also looking at the Vea from JC, but since you guys know more than me (by a LOT), I'm open to suggestions (sans any mods). I will also be looking at this...eGo Twist thing that someone above mentioned.
