I was speaking with a friend of mine and inadvertently whipped out my 510 and took a quick vape. He is a chemist and wanted to know the details so I clued him in. He then asked me a question I had never anticipated nor had ever come across on these boards:

"Have you tried putting a few drops of alcohol in a blank cartridge and vaped that? Should be a relatively quick drunk there..."

I'm not much of a drinker nor am I a fan of the 'get really drunk really fast' but is this something that anyone here has heard of before?

Wouldn't that mess up the atty? I'm relatively new here but I thought any liquid without the pg/vg would be too..liquid-y for the atty to handle.

I've used alcohol in my mixes for over a year. Once the heat gets to it from the atty, the alcohol is pretty much burnt away.
It also helps create more vapor, more throat hit and as an added bonus it sterilizes!!!

I used to sell Rexair Rainbow cleaners ( door to door god help me ) basically theyre vacuum cleaners that use water to trap dirt instead of a bag. ( works very very well btw ) My boss once poured a bottle of vodka into the pan instead of water, shut the door and turned on the rainbow, which can also be used like a vaporizer by adding eucalyptus oil to the water. We all sat in the room for about ten minutes and felt nothing. Then he opened the door and we went into the hall.

I was instantly drunk. Almost overly drunk.

So Ive thought about this with an e cig but I dont want to try it and pray it doesn't work. It would be way too much ammunition for the FDA and others if it did.

Frankly I'm not sure how much of a drunk you'd get from it. If, as some studies have determined, you don't really get that much nicotine from vaping as opposed to smoking, I would think the same would hold true for the alcohol content. And if you think about it, we're really not vaping any great quantities. I think 5 mL, which is actually a goodly amount of vaping during the course of an entire day, isn't too much more than a teaspoon. I think it would still be faster and more efficient to just go ahead and drink it.

Owned a Rainbow for a long time (kids had allergy problems) and it worked really great so I forgive you for being a vacuum salesman.
AND, I swear, you won't get hammered by adding a little alcohol to your PG/VG---you can't just use alcohol because it doesn't work. It immediately vaporizes and does all the things above and helps keep things clean.
As for the FDA, they couldn't say much to me because I don't use nicotine. Besides they know alcohol vaporizes with heat so they'd look like dummies even bring it up.

Edit: The difference here being a Rainbow and cool air moisturizers don't heat up.

Since we're here... some folks are vaporizing Tetrahydrocannabinol (kills a lot less people than alcohol).

I use Everclear... also great for cleaning out your attys or removing the labels from your cartomizers, lol.

A good vodka and it doesn't do anything to change the flavor. As I said, I don't do nicotine so I make my own liquid. The mix consist of VG, alcohol, and flavoring.
PGA is actually better but haven't found it around the area. I'm not saying it isn't, it's just I'm not a drinker so I don't know the best places to buy what.
