I've bought a couple of those joyetech variable-temp vapers and a couple of their mini model VTs. One of the larger units outright died after about 6 months. Weird. Even tried cannibalized parts replacement from a working unit but to no avail. Inexplicable. Now my wife is reporting repeated problems with her mini. It quits working though it sure works fine in Power mode setting, but that is not her preferred mode. I can get those minis - the COMPLETE KIT (lacking only battery and ejuice) - for just $44 (from tecoins.com, but shipping was pretty slow).

The wife and I prefer tank models like what we have described, but we wonder if a more reliable device is available from a different manufacturer. For another investment around $50 we're ready to try another line of device, hoping for greater dependability. Suggestions welcome. And note that variable-temp is not the vital desired feature. Thanks!

Afterthought: another problem I have experienced with these devices that I own is excessive gurgling and explosive pops (that you can feel and they scare)

Welcome to ECF!

It's hard to understand which models you have tried. Can you be more specific.

There is a Joyetech VT and a VTC mini which are box mods. There is also Jovetech Ego One VT which is a tube shape. There aren't many tube shaped devices with Temperature Control.

It's also hard to recommend anything without some sort of guideline to what you are looking for.

Unfortunate. I have many Joyetech devices and they work flawlessly. I have used their products for over 7 years. Because of their popularity though they are cloned, use supplied validation code to ensure you have an authentic Joyetech product.

Try Innokin, Aspire or Vaporesso. In my opinion Vaporesso is the best with matching tank (kit), keeping in mind that going more than 40W you would need the kit that does not come with an enclosed battery. The Vaporesso 40W is just hitting the market and supply is not prevalent yet. Also they have a new "pro" series of their popular VTC device. You can find their tried and true VTC device here in your price range, but no battery.
