I don't disagree with you, I guess my only point was i tried beating the hell out of that one ceramic coil and no power , dust or anything came off and it wouldn't break. I also boiled it and dry burned it without issue and no residue left behind. Their link says to scratch the coil over a black surface to see the powder but the ones I tried haven't left said powder. Just like their is different quality of wire, there is different quality or ceramic.
And like I pointed out the issue with Q/C from China.
Case for example, uwell. One of the most respected Manufacturers, well known for outstanding quality had a bad run with one coil. I'd rather not have that happen with Ceramic's.

You keep trying to spin that UWell was motivated to put out bad press on Ceramic's because they don't produce them. That is totally off in never, never land. They make a varity of coils for their gear, all outstanding quality. You're really stretching it to think they wouldn't produce ceramic coils if they thought they were safe and could make a profit. Come on Anthony, get real.

OK here's a thread that discussed it
safety concerns of sintered ceramic wicks/coils

Personally I'll go with the study from UWell, they could have easily jumped on the band wagon with minimal cost and made money instead they decided against it. If a Manufacture puts off a new revenue stream due to concerns they have over safety, that's good for me ;)

Idk man I'd like to see an independent study. How many BS studies have we seen from the FDA we know are BS. I'm not so inclined to believe uwell on this subject.

Also let's say I do 100% beleive them what about all the coils they didn't test?

It's fine if u want to believe them, I just don't belive either side perosnally. I'm just playing devils advocate.

Plus I already know you mostly use their rba and not their coils. I know u love the crown tank with the rba.

Has anyone tried ceramic coils?
I tried the vaporesso ceramic coils in my Tobeco Super Tank. Bought 2 boxes of .2 and .5 ohms.
All sucked. Too many dry hits. It was fine if you wait 20 minutes between vapes to let it fully wick. Anything less and dry hits. Especially if you chain vape.

I can't speak for all ceramic coils, but I'm not gonna keep testing them. Good old cotton for me. And now I build my own so I save more money than buying disposable coils.

Seems like ceramic coils would be such a good idea and harmless...
I'm with you. That's why it's bought 4 boxes. But at least with the Vaporesso coils, they were a dud. I think the idea can work, but doesn't seem like any company is championing them anymore. Just about all new sub-ohm tanks don't offer ceramic coils.
I don't believe in any study from any company that has a financial interest in the results of the study. So I can't speak for whether ceramic coils are dangerous or not. I just know in my one attempt it was a total face palm failure.

Sounds like I shouldn't try it. I do have some notch coils that I haven't yet tried. From this thread, sounds like I'll be disappointed

I usually go through it but either way works as long as air can hit the coils. So it depends on the atty

Does that mean I can rebuild my ego coils and put the wick through the coil? If so, that'd be way easier than my current practice of wrapping the vertical coil on the outside

Idk I'd have to see the coils. I remember back many years ago I use to rebuild the kanger evod coils.

Ok. I get where you are coming from.

You're trying to save money on disposable coils. Ceramic because they claim to last a long time. Re-wicking your used disposable coils.

Some have successfully rewicked their disposable. But most of us don't (or didn't, before switching to rta/rdta/rta type tanks) because it's not worth the hassle. At 3-5 dollars coils seem expensive, but still cheaper than cigarettes.

What coils, tank and mod are you using?

Not on vertical coils. You still need the center air hole for air to pass through. If you block it then I think the middle would burn because there isn't enough air passage on the sides. Just my opinion tho. Guess you could try it. I wouldn't but we are all different.

I tried the notch coils, wasn't impressed but some people like them. For me other than the very underwhelming experience you're still dependent on buying coils. Good quality wire is and wrapping your own is cheap and still can't be beat.

Another Possible Con is that Many Notched Coil have Very Large Diameters. And a Fixed Length.

So they might be a Tight Fit (or might Not Fit at all) in some Atomizers.
There's more than one kind? I wouldn't call them Very Large, I'd call them Ridiculous. I thought it was a great idea until I saw one and it was about twice the size I expected/hoped for. I'm actually thinking about trying mine though, the Wismec Theorem it came with is ridiculous too, what an awful purchase.
