Nothing But Problems from my Nautilus

So a about 1 month ago I got myself an Aspire Nautilus and have have on and off problems ever since.

What's happening is I'm getting sever burnt hits from my mod. I have a 1.7ohm coil at 3.7 volts and after every 2-3 hits will just burn my throat so bad. But recently it's been getting far worse where it happens wither the end of the first hit or full on the second hit.

The original coils that came with the Nautilus worked the longest, but like all coils I had to replace them. Every since then, it's been nothing but burnt, burnt, burnt.
I've change the coils 4 times in the past month with very little use and I ensure the wicks are nice and soaked.

Right now I just replaced the coils for the 5th time and am running at 3.7v with 1.7ohm coil and no burnt taste (Yet)

Why does this keep happening?

burnt hits can be a wicking problem. i get them with the old coils, above 4 volts. at 3.7,you should have none. try opening up the air flow, whenever you start to get the burnt taste. and buy the bvc heads instead of the bdc.

I disagree. When you start to get a bit of a burnt taste, close your airflow down to create better suction in the juice tank. All clearo/replaceable atty tanks depend on suction, or a vacuum. Remember, the higher the air flow, the less juice gets drawn into the coil. The lower the air flow, the more juice gets sucked into the coil. Rules to live by. Some times my coil starts to get that faint burnt smell, I then lower my airflow, turn down my voltage/watts, and work my way back up slowly. Hope this helps......

I just bought the BVC coil for my regular Nautilus. Got home all excited to try out the new BVC coil as so many people on ecf have been writing about how the flavor is so much better when using the BVC coils instead of the BDC coils.

So, I clean out the tank really well, stick all the parts into a clean coffee filter to absorb the water and put it outside in the sun where it's today 109°f. The timer goes off and I go collect all the parts and start putting it back together.

(you now hear the squeal of tires screeching to a halt on the pavement) as I look at the new BVC coil and realize that there's no way in hell this thing fits my Nautilus. Sure it's a vertical coil, but it's only half the height of the original coils that come with the Nautilus, and it doesn't even have the screw threads at the top to screw into the Nautilus tank. I even asked the shop keeper if he was sure what he was selling me is the BVC coil that fits the regular size Nautilus tank and he repeatedly told me that it is.

Damn kid sold me the wrong coil. Of course I didn't get a receipt for it, and I threw away the little plastic container that they come in. $5.00 down the drain, I might as well have just taken a cigarette lighter to that Abe bill and burned it up.

Anyway, I made you sit through my "fun" experience today so...

For me, I used to get a burnt taste fairly frequently with my regular sized Nautilus tank when I first got it. To fix it, I had to change my vaping style when using the Nautilus tank. I had to slow down on my hitting the tank and not be as agressive as I had originally been when ever I use the Nautilus tank. Once I did that, the burnt or dry hits became less and less frequent, now I don't get dry hits / burnt hits at all in that tank (Also never got dry or burnt hits in any of the other tanks that I use). So, I can only suggest that maybe try to be less aggressive when you're vaping with your Nautilus and see if the wick can then keep up to you, as I understand it, the way to get a burnt hit is with a dry wick, and the way to a dry wick is to burn up all the liquid on it faster than the wick can wick up more liquid.

Okay... I'm off to the vape shop again and see if I can get them to take whatever coil it is they sold me back and give me the right one. They can either do that and trust me for the $5.00 coil or I can start shopping at the other vape shop in town. Arrgghhh, really kind of ticks me off when I asked multiple times if he was sure he was selling me the right coil. Sorry, now back to the discussion at hand, but just give it a try and slow down to try to let the wick do more wicking action.
