On March 13, 2014, the company specific mega threads in General e-liquid Discussion will be closed. Discussion regarding ECF supplier products should be directed to their supplier threads. If you wish to continue a social environment where the talk is more social than discussion of the product, feel free to create a Social Group.

We're not saying threads cannot be created that discuss a particular company's juice. However, threads created to discuss a particular product should stay on topic. Many of the mega threads have become nothing more than a social discourse, making it extremely difficult to find actual comments and information about the product itself.

Gotcha. So, can a Supplier post in a social thread? Will you change the rules on that so the owners of business' can participate in the social thread?

Needless to say, I am unhappy with this decision for personal reasons but I will abide by your rules. I just want a social arena where we can have the owner of the company post as a good ole regular human being as long as that person does not blatantly use the social arena for plugging his/her juice.

I await your response. Thanks.

Suppliers are limited to where they may post and that is not changing.

Alrighty then. Rules is rules. Gotta respect that especially if they are the same for everyone. Still don't like it but whatcha gonna do? :( Thanks for the answer!

I do want to keep reading on ECF due to all the great advice.

As I originally stated, we don't have a problem with supplier specific threads as long as they remain on topic. However, if the supplier is also an ECF registered supplier, those discussions should be held in their respective area/thread.

So, if a supplier is a registered supplier then discussion about that supplier has to be done in their thread. If they are not registered, then we can have a vendor thread but must limit it to discussion of that vendor. All other topics are off limits? Am I reading this right?

If you're referring to the existing social groups, this notice does not apply to them. The notice is for the General E-Liquid Discussion forum only. In the case of this forum, yes, the discussion is to remain on topic to the discussion of E-Liquid.

OK retired1. You scared me. I'm the thread owner and subforum moderator for the HHV Army Subforum. It appears this does NOT apply to us. Correct?

Correct. If this were a site wide issue, it would have been posted as an Announcement that went site wide. As it only applies to the General E-Liquid Discussion forum, this is the only place you'll see the notice. :)

Thank you Retired. Just had a small case of panic when I first read it. :)

Carrying on. :)

Absolutely love it. Nothing is more frustrating than having to page through fifty random comments and as many 1/4 page unrelated pictures to find information relevant to the thread title. This will be good for the vendors too. I for one don't even bother to look at threads that stray like that anymore. I'm pretty sure that others feel that way too.

So the Ahlusion and Mt Baker threads continue on with endless copious volumes of chatty off topic posts because those are non-registered suppliers? Seems a little unfair.

I've never read the Mt Baker threads, but just checked the Ahlusion thread. Yep, almost all the posts are about the vendor or the vendor's juice, just like it's always been. There's the occasional off-topic posts, but no endless copious volumes of chat.

I never understood what was so hard about NOT visiting threads if it doesn't strike one's fancy. If people want to blab about juice or anything else. Personally, I find talking juice all the time can get boring.
