Plus I took a look around the Prosmoke site. I really don't like the way they market themselves. They really do a lot of baseless claims and unjustified bragging about superiority.

This one really got me by the short hairs. {paraphrasing} "Our juice is superior to our competition because our competition uses bases that can be found in cosmetic lotions and radiator fluid" WTF?!!! I'm not trying to fuel a fire here but anyone selling ecigs should not be a party to these types of statements.

Sorry Rosie, I know nothing about the pv itself. It appears to be an M-401 model. It might be a fine e-cig. Although the batteries won't last long before they hit the charger again. I know a lot of successful vapers who kicked the habit by using "analog" style PVs. I myself started one that I used somewhat successfully for a month before finding a longer lasting battery

I have to agree with Chartz . . . after a month of a analog sized PV, and as happy as I was with it, I've already stepped it up to more convenience and ease of use. . . AND overall cost savings! Still no regrets . . . the "skinny" got me off the analogs in only two days!! AND it caught the attention of other smokers who are now very interested in making the switch.

Best of luck . . . and don't let anything get you discouraged. This forum is super great in getting you through!!

For $100-150 you can get set up with all sorts of things.
Most of the recommended kits will be $40-50.
You'll see lots recommending Ego/Kgo/Riva.
Of the 3 I'd say the Kgo is the best bang for the bucks.
Bigger batteries then the other two so more time vaping and less time recharging.
I started with the Riva and still in that same form factor (Ego). That usually means it's a 510 threaded atty/ carto but the battery is a bit fatter, like a sharpie size.
You can vape all day and charge them at night.
Since all of these come with two batteries it's easy to vape with one while charging the other.

So that leave over $100 for accessories. Eliquid is where most of that money should go. Try many of the vendors here, some have sample packs. Find at least a couple flavors you like and experiment with the rest.

Lastly would be attys/ cartos. Most folks will tell you they prefer cartos over atty's, me included, though my starter kit came with attys. They're just easier to use in the long run and hold lots more liquid so less time filling.

And lastly, there's literally thousands of folks here that have a similar background with smoking. ie 30-40 years, 1-2 packs a day that are now smoke free because of these ecigs. Most are fine with and using the Ego type batteries. Other moved up in power to higher voltages and viable voltage mods. But leave that for later. Biggest thing is finding something that works for you and off the cigs. Having an occasional cigarette is OK too, especially when just starting and finding what works best.

I spent at least a couple weeks getting everything just right for me. Had a carton as backup but had a hard time finishing them. Couldn't see just throwing that money away. But since they've run out I haven't had a single one. Still get occasional cravings but I just use a higher nicotine level juice for those moments.

Thanks to all of you for sharing the myriad of information you have acquired since beginning vaping. I contacted sales customer service to try and cancel my order from ProSmoke:vapor:. According to their policy they will cancel an order if the item has not yet reached shipping. As I haven't received a notification saying my order is ready for shipping, my fingers are crossed!

If you get stuck with it and if there is no satisfaction guarantee enabling you to return it, you may be able to confirm it is an M-401. Type it in and I believe there is a sub forum here. They may be able to help with supplies and such to get the most out of it until you can upgrade again.
Any juice from any vendor will work in atomizers so you can save money by filling them yourself. A typical atomizer performs well for about a month. Refilling is easy and you will find questions on filling and such answered in moments on the new members forum.

Good luck....kick ....!

My return request is in "review". I mentioned to the CSR that the last e-mail I received from them said the requisition had been sent to shipping and I would receive an e-mail when shipping took place in 24-36 hours (never received that e-mail) I was informed that the item had shipped yesterday morning. So we shall see now. I am not discouraged! My main goal is to "kick ...."! I have found two other products I am interested in, the Tornado E-Nic Kit from totallywicked-eliquid and the epower from crystalclear.

Hope to be joining the "vape side" soon! :vapor:

First big thing to consider is your Kit, sounds like you are just about set with that.

Second big thing is liquids. Buy small quantities of different flavors, the sample size or 5ml bottles are good for a try-out. My first order I bought lots of the same flavors and most of it is still sitting in a drawer, unused.

Others mentioned PG/VG. I had problems with PG, made me choke-cough. I switched to VG only. Now I can do both but if you have problems you might need to play around with PG / VG mixes, another reason not to buy too much of the same thing.

Also nicotine strength will matter - measured by "mg". 24mg is high, 12-18mg is medium, 6-8mg is low. I bought a bunch of 24mg but it was too strong except first thing in the morning or when I have a strong craving. I find I use a little bit of 24mg, mostly 18mg, and some 6mg. So you might want some varying strengths.

Lots to learn but it is fun and once you have the basics to work with it will all start making sense!!

I just checked out vermillion rivers juices based on a suggestion from another member. They offer a free sample (all you pay for is shipping if you don't order anything else.) They also offer a six pack sampler for $20 so I have 7 new juices to try out hopefully today or monday for 20 + 2.50 shipping. They only offer 20mg for sample bottles though. But that's fine for me

Well if you like the epower kit. That does make ordering easy. You can get your kit and carto's from one place.... And that guy that runs it. Is great.. You may be best calling him or send him an email with your number I'm sure he would call you... And he has a NO POS policy .... He uses everything or tried everything he sells.....

The E-power from CCV is a good call. You will be so much better off!! I have one, pretty solid unit.

The longest lasting "smart" battery in the industry.

I'm quoting them on that.

Dude, send that overpriced, underpowered crap back.

Get a pair of riva batteries, the bigger the better, and a couple packs of 2ohm cartomizers.
