Does anyone know when the Nugget V2 will be available? I have been looking at all the nano mods and saw the Nugget V1 at a local shop. They only had the shiney SS looking version in stock though and I would prefer the matte silver finish seen in a lot of the reviews. I love the form factor and the V2's 1500mah would be perfect for my 15-25 watt vaping style.

What is your overall impression of the V2 vs V1? I did see that V2 is slightly bigger and is only available in Pearl Black/White which is a little disappointing. I cannot even find a V1 in the matte silver finish which I believe is the actual SS version. I think you can tell because the 510 threads are part of the case instead of being an insert. I'm just tired of paint flaking off and the need for cheap looking silicon sleeves. Kind of like buying that beautiful $800.00 metal and glass smartphone and then covering it with a $20.00 plastic case! What color V2 did you get?

Bruce sent me an original Gold Rush Kit in Black & and a Nugget V2 w/ Trace Tank kit in Black as well for review in the thread. I just got them a short time ago and only ran about a tank through each so far on the stock SS 0.8ohm APC Coils. He also sent an RBA for the Trace Tank. It is a postless Design like the one they were contemplating for Summa.

The V2 is slightly larger, as is the Trace Tank. The V2 does not have Pass-Thru charging like the V1 has (which I find annoying) but charges at 1.6a vs the o.8a charging the original had. Both seem to perform well in TC and are cute little mods. I will be posting a review to the thread after I get some free time to play with them a bit, but I am busy with some other issues lately & haven't had the time to play with them as a result. I can say the V2 lasts a bit longer than the v1 when vaping side by side and charges more quickly overall on a 2a usb charger, but I can't seem to break myself of the habit of trying to vape while charging it.

Thanks for your quick response! Called Madvapes (listed on Artery USA site) and Katey said available in about a month. Called another V2 advertiser site (whose name escapes me) and they had no idea when they would be released even though they have them in stock. Passthrough vaping used to be discouraged for safety reasons though I have never heard of anyone being harmed. Intrigued by the Trace tank also. Does the RBA require a separate purchase or is it included? Looking forward to your review and appreciate your patience in answering my questions.

Trace tank RBA came in a separate box from the Artery Nugget V2 Kit so I have to assume it is not included in the Kit, but it may come with the Trace Tank if purchased separately. Again, I am not entirely sure at this point if it is included with the tank. I haven't even opened the RBA yet other than to verify the postless design.

EDIT: Nugget V2.0 Kit I received contains: 1) Nugget V2.0 Mod, 2)Nugget V2.0 User Manual, 3)Trace Tank User Manual, 4)2ml Trace Tank w/ 0.8ohm SS APC Coil Installed, 5)Spare 0.5ohm Kanthal APC Coil, 6)Micro USB Cable (for Chaging & Updates), 7)Spare O-Rings for Tank, 8)Warranty Card, 9)Certificate of Authenticity.
Strangely the Box also Lists: 1)2 Screws, 2)1 Allen Key, 3)1 Extra Glass Tube.
(I did receive an Allen Key, 2 screws, & spare O-rings packaged separately w/ the RBA, but no Spare Glass Tube was included either in the kit or with RBA) Since this was provided for purpose of review by Artery I do not find these discrepancies surprising at this stage and imagine they will be resolved by finalized distribution.

there's an update for nugget v2 already? or are they just showing that with the new v2 you don't need that special usb cable?
There is an update on the Artery website but Norton won't let me run an extract due to a Trojan Virus detection on the updater program file. Not cool at all.

Had this same type of detection on a Plato unit once.

I'll Skype with Artery tonight to see what I can figure out about it.

That's not good to hear. I have been waiting for this kit to become available but have not seen the RBA available at all, risky at best firmware upgrade and no response from several email attempts. Not a promising sign should any support be needed. Evic Basic has the same 1500 mah in the smaller Nugget V1 size but has the + and - buttons on the bottom. I already have a Cuboid and VTC Mini so I was looking for something a little different. Will probably wait to see about Trace RBA availability.

Sorry to hear of your communication issues. Bruce is very good communicator, but does get caught up in other priorities at times.

Many times Chinese firmware update programs pose no danger at all, but are detected as a threat because Norton sees the machine code as a possible threat since they did not contact Norton for an exclusion exception. (Submission of code , verification fees & licensing are often required to get around this)

I did disable Norton & downloaded update files. I ran both bins without issue with a standard USB cable. Looks clean. Appears to have added PGM A, B & C Modes, but unsure as to intent of them. Seeking clarification from Bruce when he gets into office & has chance to reply. 8am there now.

Have asked for:
  • assurance virus free,
  • why 2 bins in update,
  • chmod detail listing,
  • Intent of new modes (but think I can guess they are just preset profiles)
  • instructions clarification.
  • RBA Availability & retailers carrying
I'll post what I learn, but have to leave for now.

Appreciate the update regarding the firmware. Still leaning toward the V2. Just looks like a quality device. The 5mm height "penalty" over the Evic Basic is offset by the convenience of the conventional button layout. Really would like try the mod and the Trace tank but I only do rebuildables. Please keep us posted. Thanks!
