Just got back & Bruce Skyped w/ me as soon as I changed my status to Online, so communication is good from my perception.

  • I was assured that the update Program executable is indeed Virus Free and the false positives are more about the Security Companies needing to update their definition files to exclude the false positive indications during the scan for their specific code. It was not discussed if they would be pursuing this exclusion with Norton. My system suffered no ill effects and all steps in update were visible at execution. During the typing of this post, I was contacted & told engineering was downloading Norton to test & acertain the reason why the false positive occurred.
  • The Two files bins in the update file are in actuality the exact same bin file with two different names. One is an internal filename structure that should have not been included in the rollout. It will be removed. There is no reason to run both, but it will not hurt anything if you do.
  • The firmware update was issued to show concerned users that were upset with the old way of using a proprietary USB cable to update the mod that a standard USB does work, but also to allow a user to reload the original Firmware the mod shipped with should it become necessary for any reason. He was not aware of any changes in this update, but will verify with the software engineering department and contact me with a chmod if there were small changes that escaped his attention.
  • Apparently It was my error on the PGM ABC Modes! They were there the whole time and I was too lazy & distracted to notice. They are preheat duration and intensity settings that are discussed in the user manual (which I haven't read).
  • I didn't discuss clarifications on the instructions as they were clear, just not in a presentation manner I prefer.
  • He will provide me with a link to rba Availability when he gets feedback from distribution network. He said with the major product roll-outs they have undertaken (going from 3 products offered to adding another 9 to beat the USA Deeming, they have not properly set up their website to reflect their offerings. He apologized for this deficiency and said they will address it soon. There was some discussion, which I am not currently at liberty to share regarding a longer term solution that they are concentrating on for this point.
Hope this clarifies questions.

Update:

I was contacted again & did not notice, but apparently I am somewhat vindicated.

The sample, I received did not have the PGM ABC modes programmed after all. (they had me second guessing myself due to some personal issues demanding my attention).

The PGM ABC Preheat control functions were intended for more advanced users to be able to add by employing the Firmware update and although supposedly in the manual, they are not pre-programmed into the Starter Kit & that is reason for the update.

This concept makes sense to me from the "Keep It Simple Stupid" standpoint & easily explains the confusion.

The 'Burgh, PA.
Evic Basic has the same 1500 mah in the smaller Nugget V1 size but has the + and - buttons on the bottom.

Nugget V2.0...23mm x 34mm x 60mm...46,920mm³

eVic Basic......22mm x 32mm x 55mm...38,720mm³

So...the eVic Basic is somewhat smaller...but the Bottom Buttons on the eVic Basic are so small you're almost forced to use your finger-nail to adjust them...

Norton sucks big time imo. It often detects safe files as harmful. I always remove Norton from computers I maintain and replace it with the free version of AVG, it works much better, at least for me.
And what happens when you scan the Artery Nugget V2.0 firmware download from the artery site with the AVG?

I don't even have a Nugget V2, but I tried it just for you.

Nothing happens, it's save just as I thought it would be. Checked again after unpacking it too, same result.

Very Cool of you, Thanks! Glad to hear!

I'd feel real bad if I was telling people it was clean and turned out not to be!

Ok. I have played around PGM ABC modes a bit. While I am guessing here a bit this is what I have settled on as to its intent.

They appear to be stand alone vaping modes that will allow preheat control to be somewhat defined by the user for non TC Wattage Vaping.
  • Upon entering PGM A, B, or C, one reaches a screen that allows adjustment of two variables.
  • The First is Sec. & Next is Mult.
  • Sec. are in 0.1 increments from 0.1 - 2.0 Sec & advanced by pressing the [Fire] button.
  • These Sec 0.1 increments appear to be slices of an overall 2.0 Sec. Time Frame.
  • During each 0.1 sec slice, you appear to be able to adjust a multiplier to your wattage setting by pressing the [+] & [-] buttons.
  • By Adjusting this wattage multiplier for each 0.1sec slice over the entire 2.0 second time frame a user can define a preheat curve to be applied to the Kanthal coil you are vaping on.
  • When you have defined the entire time frame, press & hold the fire button to lock in the program.
  • Thereafter entering the program setting you will adjust your wattage to maintain proper vaping temperature of the coil after the pre-heat without overheating the coil.

As they are separate work modes from TC Wire control modes & they do not appear to be able to be accessed from within these modes (ie: for controlling the preheat of SS TC Mode you must continue to rely on the Max Wattage Setting to control preheat under TC).

Still no word about the RBA for the Trace tank. Wish they would have just included the RBA in the kit and priced it a few dollars more. Seems the reviewers got one but they were supplied separately. Seems strange that they are unavailable for sale.
Little surprised I haven't heard back since they downloaded Norton. I had to figure out instructions for pgm a,b,c myself. He is supposed to get me official answers on all we discussed but is strangely silent.
