As a long-time analog smoker, I switched to vaping a few years ago and never looked back, so if this post is not appropriate for the New Members Forum, mods please feel free to move it elsewhere.
I'm posting this on behalf of my wife, who has never smoked anything in her life. She does however have a tendency to overeat, particularly sweets and other junk food, and has recently been experimenting with vaping zero-nic liquid, both for the flavor enjoyment and as an alternative to snacking. Happily, she does enjoy the flavors and it has actually helped her cut down on snacking.
The problem though, is that after only a couple occasional light hits, she experiences a numbing sensation on her tongue which she finds quite bothersome. If she avoids vaping for a while, the feeling goes away, only to return the next time she vapes.
I never experienced this when I began vaping, but that may have to do with the fact that I smoked analogs up to that point. I have researched this, and the only thing I find that seems to come close is "vapers tongue," but that seems to be more of a dehydration and loss of flavor issue, as opposed to numbness and tingling.
So I'm trying to figure out what's going on here. Is this just a side effect that some people experience and others don't? Is it a matter of her tongue getting used to vaping, and the numbness will go away after some period of time? Or could it have to do with the juice -- is PG or VG more or less likely to cause this, or could certain flavors be the culprit? Since it's zero-nic, we can rule out nicotine as the cause.
Any insight and input on this is appreciated!
