Hello from yet another noob. I bought a 21st Century Smoke kit and tried it out. The batteries were ok but the cartridges lasted only about 20 puffs and tasted so so. The green LED was great though. Fortunately the seller said if I didn't like it I could bring it back. So I did. Since then I've done quite a bit of reading and watched the videos.

I don't necessarily want a tobacco flavor, I do want a manual battery, and I would like to keep the start up around $50. I have a pretty good idea that I want something with a lot of vapor and a bigger battery (but not so big I can't carry it in my pocket) maybe along the lines of a 510 or an eGo or a KR808d-1. They all seem to get good reviews on ECF. Still there are so many choices. Also, what is a good starter juice like chocolate, or mocha, or fried chicken? No on second thought scratch the fried chicken. Or maybe a sample pack of popular low nicotine juice.

I think what I need a good starter kit that is like legos, idiot proof, and hard to break. 2 piece, 3 piece - I have no real idea what I'll wind up with in the long but I'd like to start with something that is flexible to adapt for when I figure out what I'm doing. Oh yes and cheap!

Thanks, Snap-Pop

Get the ego from liberty flights. I believe the Riva is out of stock but they have the Joye which is $10 more but does have a 6 month warranty on batteries. Get two boxes of 2.0 boge cartomizers and a drip tip. That's about $55.

FreedomSmokeUSA has sample size juice, you can vary juice flavors and nicotine levels to see what works best for you.

I started (and still vape) 24 mg. 70pg/30vg.

snap - welcome!

Many start with a 510 - but quickly tire of the short battery life. You need to ask yourself, do I need to have a PV (personal vaporizer) that looks like a cig? I think there are several threads stickied in this forum that have pics and descriptions of the most common PV's. Check those out.

Juice - well, let me be the 1st to tell what you will hear a lot here : taste is subjective. I personally have no desire to vape bacon or BBQ ribs or beer (yes those are all real juice flavors) so start small, and be prepared to NOT save money for a couple of months over smoking.

When do you somke the most? At work. At home? In the car, at a computer, chilling in front of the TV? All will play a factor to what type of PV might be best. Go check the stickied threads and look for a thread called the ECF library - it's not in this section - but it has a ton of great info.

It really comes down to whether or not you want something that looks and feels like a cigarette. If you do, go for the
510, if you don't care, I would say definitely go with the eGo.

They both end up being about the same price (after you buy all the necessary gear to go with them) So the deciding
factor is size. Bigger unit = longer battery life. Smaller unit = more like a cigarette.

Which one is the most flexible? One that I can buy different parts to adapt it. Like I start off with an atomizer, but can change to a cartomizer (I think that the term). Or maybe try a tank. Can I do that with any of these?
Thanks again, Snap-Pop

The one I gave you the link for you can use carts/atomizer, drip with the drip tip, or use cartomizers with it. Use it three ways. And it fit your price range, around $50. If you like it, you can always add a big battery, or try the tank with it. I wouldn't recommend starting out with a tank. If you have issues with the tank and that's all you get, you're stuck.

Welcome! I'm pretty new to this myself. The link below is what I recently bought and am very happy with...An eGo style with 510 cartomizers. I chose this one as the batteries are higher capacity than the standard eGo at 900 mA vs 650mA (which gives you many hours each between recharges.) $46 plus 2.50 shipping. It is about as noob friendly as I could find. Regardless of where you buy it, the eGo type is an awesome PV to start out with. As someone else mentioned, the eGo/510 system has a wide variety of options and they are available everywhere.

To answer some questions. I never smoke in my house or car. Only outside. I don't care if of looks like a cigarette, but I want something small enough to put in my pocket. I would like at least a 650 ma battery. Why do I need a drip tip?

Beer? Bacon?? BBQ??? Escargot????

In case you want to drip. Or, if you want easy access to your cartomizer to add juce easily.

I would say the ego would be best for you to start out. I started out with the 510 and it is nice but if you get one you will move up to the ego eventually so just get it now. As far as juices I will recommend my first juice sweet tobacco from ares ecig. I still vape it every day. But then again taste is subjective so try to find somewhere that has a sampler pack and get a couple different ones you think you may like.
