So, post Christmas shopping today - went to the major mall near family home. Decided to check out the "Smoking Everywhere" vendor cart.


US$25 for a disposable?
Basic 808 kit of one auto battery, charger, one atty and one cartridge - US$100!

I had my Infinity Pro with DC carto tank - puffing out great clouds of vapor...so much so that the risible amount from the vendor's pantywaist, overpriced kit unit was engulfed.

I asked him, "Why so expensive?". He replied, "My rent is $8000 a month and I can't survive by competing with web-based sales to the folk who know, like yourself - that's a cool looking unit, by the way."

He was friendly and appeared to know what was what in the PV world but was caught by high-rent in selling overpriced, very basic gear to noobs.

Too bad...

I hate to hear how bad these kiosk guys can be because my guy is great!! Of course, I know I'm getting screwed when a 10ml bottle of juice is 15 dollars... but I know there has to be a mark up in order to make profit. I know they have rent, payroll, and other things they need that profit for. My ego-type kit was only 50 dollars. My 808 kit with the pcc and 2 batteries was about a 100. I would have paid less than that ordering it online, but then I'd have shipping and wait time (I am the MOST instant gratification person you'll ever meet!) so it was worth it to me.

I think, most people buy these things on a whim. I don't care, so much, about being over-priced because it's our choice to buy without researching. When I loved the flat iron thing at the kiosk... I came home, bought it online for 120 less than what they were selling it for... I just want these people to be honest about what they're selling, to have knowledge of the product and competition, and to be helpful to the people who have no idea about any of it!!

At least he had an excuse for you, and didn't start rambling on how his is better/cheaper over time than yours.
