Hello i understand i can legally bring in 3 months supply of e liquid containing nicotine. I will be coming through the airport with that initially. However i was shocked to read that customs will confiscate the vaping device? Something to do with a smoking implement which has glass?? Is this true? Do i need to buy a replacement vaporiser after arriving in NZ?

You will be fine,vaping gear is legal in NZ and eliquid and Mods,atomisers etc are legal to import.
I know the customs regulation you are talking about but it does not apply to a vaper or vaping gear but does apply to smoking equipment,customs knows the difference
If questioned make sure they understand that what you have is for personal use.
