Consider this too - when you move from one atty to another, it might just irritate you that builds you've been knocking out for ages just don't seem to work anymore like they do on a RM2.

My Atomics/RM4s run duals with different wick and coils to what i used to do. They now match a RM2, only bigger and more vapour, but that didn't happen without a lot of swearing!

Then i got a CLT atty, and that took me a further 5 builds and bigger wicks, spaced coils blah blah, before i got that how i like!

If that sounds like a lot of trouble - it is! And i already gave my grand a haircut, so you have that too. Save your cash for a new one like SITS said and then you can play on that and vape the other when it goes wrong!

that is very true, especially on a mechanical mod. you've got to redial in your vape

Jif, if you do decide to LP your grand, I bet you get your tools from Lowes :)

All I know is now that I started doing this 22mm RDA thing, there's no going back to smaller attys.

I acclimated from a year and a half of 1/16" air MTL to lung hitting wide open dual large airholes with dual coils on the first hit.

The thickness and quantity of vapor is in another league IMO.

But as others have suggested, you may wanna wait until you get an LP.

Like I said, once I went over to the dual coil 22mm AFC lung hitting dark side, there was no returning for this kid :)

I love you and one day I'll have the pleasure of holding one of your reo dna's but on this one my friend I disagree big time.

Atomic, Zenith, Odin, Cyclone AFC all of these are for me WAY TOO AIRY!! I even shut the afc of the cyclone and odin fully to where there isnt even the slightest slit and it was too airy. For me it's the resistance of the pull and even with the smallest drip tip (diameter) the draw wasn't where it should be.,

A cyclone or RM2 is just so amazing because it feels like I smoothly suck the vapor out of the chamber. I know it sounds way odd but there is just no way to explain it.

Flavor wise I would also like to disagree but you just have more experience with 22mm+ rda's than I do let alone dual coils which sounds spanish to me haha.

I think mainly its the small chamber and tiny air hole on the cyclone like rda's that is what does it for me. Just too much room in a odin or even a atomic with the holes almost shut.

just to mention here, if you tighten the airflow down to a tight draw you can get every bit as much flavor from one of these larger dual coil atties. every bit as much, but denser thicker vapor... I don't know why many think that the airflow has to be large and you have to lung hit with these, it just ain't so :)

just to add all these RDA's are awesome and do what they are suppose to. Not that anyone thinks I want to take something from these sexy things just saying it's too airy or I am too old or both.

Let's talk about Cisco 306 LR 1.5ohm with a cannon drip tip for a change. Now that is a awesome vape and pretty Old school lol

Real talk.

If you are happy with what you have, there is no reason to change it up. I had a couple of gripes with the RM2 that have been dealt with building on the Odin. It's also a single vs. dual coil thing. I have never set up my Odins with a single coil because they just kill it with a dual coil. I never thought I would like a wide open airflow on a dual coil setup, but I am loving it now. The all stainless construction is a huge thing for me, and even though the Odin looks freakishly huge at first compared to the RM2, I got used to it immediately. It's just a more solid piece of gear, and really an apples to oranges comparison to the RM2. I LOVED my RM2s, but after hearing such great things about the Odins, had to give them a try. I am VERY glad I did. Unless for some reason both of my Odins were to quit working at the same time, I probably won't go back to the RM2. Ever.

That being said, I hesitate to recommend spending money on something when you already have a solution that you dig. Chasing some elusive perfection by getting the newest atty is something that I don't engage in generally. It just so happens that I got lucky that I love the Odins so much. I spent a LOT more money on a Chalice and it did not work out for me. The Odins were at a price point that I felt comfortable taking a chance on and for me, at least, it paid off.

Good luck.

Already made up my mind and have no desire at all to run any 22mm BF on any of my Reo's. I have a bunch of RM2's, a VA Cyclone and an IGO-S and they get both single and dual coils done in spades for me with tons of flavor rich vapor that is way more than good enough for my uses. So I don't want anything else, including contrary opinions.

I still actually prefer the RM4 over the Odin for dual coil lung hitting. Beside the fact that the Odin is way more solid, the RM4 beats it in warmth and flavor. It's just smaller and does better because of that. Also, it's not as top heavy/clunky.

I just ordered another spare RM2 cap to experiment with the dual air-hole (aka filthy beast method) to see what is actually doable with the single coil RM2 and lung hits. Dual coils are super nice, and deliver dense vapor, but single coils and tiny RDA's are the most squonk/juice consumption friendly IMO. So it's time for me to see what the RM2 can really do in the dense/direct lung hit department. We shall see...

Currently I "carb hit" (let more air in by opening mouth slightly around drip tip) with my RM2. It hasn't seen much use since I went RM4/Odin, but make no mistake, that tiny RM2 is blatantly a flavor champion and I want it to work with my preferred lung hit now.

Cheers

My suggestion would be to grab a RM3 dual version. It fits on a standard grand and gets you into dual coils. It's basically a RM2 on steroids, so not a drastic vape experience change from what you have and you wouldn't have to mill anything (unless, deep down, that's what you want to do to join all the cool LP kids).

Funk did you see the pic Pdib posted of an RM2 with a slit instead of two holes? When I get some time I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks, all, for your ssuggestions. Perhaps an RM3 is the way to go. I think I am going to leave my Grand the way it is and just continue to enjoy the RM2 as I do now.

I appreciate your help. I've gotten exactly what I was looking for when I started this thread.

Hoooop - there it is!!!! Been rockin a dual RM3 for a month now and love it. Two 6-wraps of 30g around a 1/16. Highly recommend.

Yep, that's me. I have .8 (duals) setup with ... cotton on a RM4 with the two smallest air holes open just enough to allow air in.

I have to keep a fan in my office to keep the air clear enough to see what I'm doing - no BS.

I'll be heading to .6 this weekend to see what it's like.

I bought the LP as my first Reo for the flexibility of using larger atties. If I had the standard grand, I'd sand it down. BUT I have a 12" bench top disc sander that would allow me to have complete control over the process so it could be done slowly and perfectly even.

If all I had was a drill and hand files, I'd save up for an LP...or send it back to be modded for me.

My :2c:

Two problems no one has mentioned with the Odin.

I got mine on Monday and built a dual-coil at .47ohm. Started vaping that night. By noon Tuesday I'd gone through 20ml of juice and had to make an emergency run to my local B&M for more. I also found that having a battery charger at work was not a luxury but needed to keep up with my battery dropping from 4.2 to 3.7v in half a day. No, I can't smoke in the office/lab just massive clouds/flavor while outside.

I currently run RM4s (single and dual) on my other LP Grands and RM2's on my mini's. The RM4s last all day and the RM2s most of the day. Not the Odin.

I'm still happy with RM2s and still put them on the Grands sometimes. But this Odin has my other REO's whining about being left out of the cloud party.
When you get an LP on the way in seriously think about the Odin. (Just stock up on juice and batteries before it arrives).
