Ody Expansion set: atty insert insulator won't screw

Hi,

I was trying to use my Odysseus in full mode with a 510 atty, the problem is that the Atomizer insert insulator does not screw in the Atomizer insert (parts 9 and 10 in the diagram):

does someone has had the same problem?

any advice?

Does not screw in at all, or just not all the way?

I did have some trouble getting it started at first, but after the first time it goes in just fine. The threads are so fine that it's easy to cross-thread it when getting it started, so maybe that's where you're having a problem?

Yep, check the threads on both pieces for burrs, rough spots or any trouble spots that might be the prob.

I usally chase most threads and run some fine scotch brite on em to smooth out, if I can get to em.

Thanks guys, thanks for the help.

The plastic piece screws in the metal one like 2mm then it stops, I have checked both pieces and there are not burrs or rought spots on them, the threads look fine in both parts.

On the slotted side of the metal piece, it screws a little more.

If you have any tap magic, spray some in/on both pieces and try threading them again seeing if you can get them to go together furthur as should.

If no tap magic, try some WD-40 or even candle wax then wash the pieces REALLY WELL after your done.

Mine was tight the first time also. I soaked mine in vodka then took a brush to it for a while then worked it slowly in.

Will try with WD-40 at home, if it does not work (I hope it does ), maybe the screwing unscrewing thing Imeo told us to do to get the Stealth ring screwed in the ss Stealth cap. The problem is that there is not much grip surface on the plastic piece (I already have some blisters on fingers)

There are not sings of cross-threading the plastic piece.

I could use a screwdriver to screw it in, the problem is to get it un unscrewed.

Yes, spray em and work em back and forth trying to get them working smooth and hopefully that will get them seated fully.

WOW that is strange because I had the very same issue tonight when I tried it for the first time as well. I then put it in the wrong side and worked it it all the way. (not hard) when I did that it went into the correct side easy. Hope you get it working right!

I had the same issues at the first attempt and solved it like SAX and Serpent like screwing/unscrewing the plastic carefully on both ends of the metal part until it screwed in smooth.
Using WD-40 will cause a very good clean of all parts afterwards because i would imagine it doesn't taste well and WD40 may be unhealthy.

What I tend to do when parts stick is don the green rubber grip gloves I get from work and it works every time and you'll get no blisters that way

The tube that goes on my battery connector is always very tight and I can never grip it enough to unscrew it even though it's coated in vaseline but the grip gloves work perfect.

I couldn't try with the WD-40 -didn't find it at home, I think I'll buy a can today- and a pair of rubber grip gloves , I hope to find them at Home Depot.

I'll keep trying until I get it, this is personal now hehehe

Instead of WD-40 you could take vaseline or cooking oil, this should work the same way

I bought a pair of "gardener" gloves I found at a nearby store (the green part is made of rubber).

The insulator now screw in the slotted side of the atomizer insert...

Screwing it into the slotted atomizer side will work sort of like a Die and help clean the threads on the plastic insert.

Yes I noticed that, when screwing into the slotted side, there were some micro plastic particles product of the threads cleaning

Task accomplished, the rubber gloves did it Insulator screws in both sides of atomizer insert !!!
