Hey all, been busy returning e-mails and finishing reports this morning. Headed out to T-Town later this afternoon.

PT... when I read how busy you always are, I am always AMAZED that you can still find time to cook all those yummy dinners! :) I thawed out a tri-tip roast that I'd had in the freezer since last summer (a long unemployed lady asked if I would groom her dog for 'meat' and couldn't tell her no!) I felt so bad even taking the meat as payment (since she got it at a food bank) that I've had a hard time making myself cook it :( Going to try making it in the pressure cooker tonight... so another new little cooking adventure for me!

At least you are doing it Gracie... good for you! I felt like such an idiot when I went to the rec fitness center yesterday! I've never been to a gym before in my life... and the machines there were totally overwhelming me! It's drop-in style (= cheap) so nobody to shows you how to use the equipment etc. I had this secret fear of getting on a treadmill and having it take off on me in HIGH MODE... and flying off the back of it, LOL! So... I started out on the bicycle... and by the time I got the nerve to try the treadmill they were all taken... so I did 7 miles on the bicycle... all the while watching everyone using ALL the machines, and how they work... so that next time I'll (hopefully) be more daring and try can try (at least) most of them, LOL! My other fear about going was that it would be only 20's, 30's, 40's and even 50's... way younger than me... and that I was going to be the only old bag (dressed in the wrong 'things' to exercise) was so happy to see only one young 'chick' in her 20's and the rest my age or older, dressed in most anything!
Oh, I so remember the first time I walked into the gym and felt so intimidated. It didn't last long though as I had a spotter help me along the way. Then, later on in years, I had a personal trainer who schooled me on slow weight training. That gym was comprised by mostly seniors, so I felt quite at home.

Those machines can be daunting if you don't know what you're doing........just ask someone and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you........good for their ego, and good for you wanting to learn.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that had to face the fears of it all Gracie! I'm sure if I have troubles figuring it all out I'll feel more comfortable with asking for help the next few times there! I bought a month pass (that I can extend to quarterly/yearly at a discount if I want to) so figured I'd at least get 1 month (more likely to 'make' myself go) and see how it goes from there! A few more times, and I'm sure I'll feel much more at ease there! :)

...Yes, and if OTD doesn't start behaving we'll have to include his hummers too!...

Now by golly if they'd hold still long enough I would hug a hummer!
(that's hummingbird for anyone not following along... get yer minds outta the gutter)

...standing on a board about 3 ft in length which is mounted on rollers and having to slide from side to side without holding on to the bar.....yea, right!
That is admirable Flower!!

Good evening,folks.:) I don't need a gym. I have cordwood..
I think the wood is safer than a gym Fran.

Made it through the work-a-day, straight back to the chiropractor afterwards. GOOD adjustment this time, low back went POP and up twixt the shoulder blades went SNAP and for the moment at any rate I'm feelin' almost chipper enough to step outside and flap my arms for all ya'll in the snow!

Woo-Hoo (-:

    Somewhere between here and there
I went to the gym a lot when I was in the army. Several years ago I bought a good treadmill and a smith cage and now I prefer to exercise at home. I have a hard time during the winter staying motivated to do it 3-4 times a week but try to always get in at least two . It helps keep the arthritis in my leg from bothering me much .

I don't think I could ever handle that, Fran! I applaud you for having such strength.

It also keeps my osteoarthritis in check too, Hitt.....when I don't go, I know the difference, especially in my back.

Glad you feel better,OTD. Back problems are no fun at all.

We have winter storm warnings up again. 5-7 tomorrow.
    No, not again! OY!!

Not at all admirable, OTD.....couldn't do it without the bar, and I was slippin and a' slidin all over the place.

Ah, nothing like a good adjustment.......that should do you for awhile, I hope.

Glad your feeling good OTD. Hitt my back seems fine recently but when it goes it can hurt for weeks now.
Mixxy, I have not been cooking the fancy stuff lately, took some pics at the meeting but was mostly catered stuff.

I need to decide by tomorrow afternoon if I'm gonna spend another night in Tulsa, really would rather go home.

    Good night.
