That's too bad CES. Did you complain about the service. I've seen some ads where they are hiring for dog sitters. They pay pretty good so I'm sure it wasn't cheap.

We were in communication about it. We texted/emailed about the overfeeding when the dogs ran out of food and the owner is the one that let me know there might be a smell. The sitter sent pictures 3x per day, but now i'm wondering if there were more accidents than the two I was told about during my trip, if the time the pictures were sent actually correlated well with the visits, if the scheduling wasn't right for the dogs, and/ or if the dogs were just acting out.

I'll probably follow up, but i'm waiting until i'm less exhausted and annoyed.

    Somewhere between here and there
After getting woken up a little over an hour before my alarm went off by the dog, I'm beginning to wonder why I agreed to get a dog. My youngest daughter begged for a dog and my wife thought it was a good idea to get one. The youngest never walks the dog and the oldest does it on occasion. Most of the time I get stuck being the one to take her on her daily walk. I was so mad this morning that there was smoke coming out of my ears when I came downstairs and the dog was barking at thin air. I'm a heavy sleeper so it takes quite a bit to wake me. It amazes me that I'm the only one that heard it. If you can't tell yet, I'm grumpy this morning.

Sorry, was not trying to say anything about dog ownership. We love dogs and would love to have one or two. But would not be fair to have any with our travels and leaving them for a week at a time 4-6 times a year, not to mention the 1 or 2 nights a week no one is home. As it is, its going to be a hassle to get my cat chipped, another round of shots and get a letter from the USDA so we can get him into the EU next year.

I didn't mean to rant like that. It was nothing you said PT. I always loved cats and dogs growing up but something happened along the way. I don't hate our dog. I like her ok but I'm just getting burned out since it seems like I'm always the one having to take care of her. In a house of four people you would think that perhaps the dog could get walked during the day instead of having to do it when I get home from work. Especially during the summer when there is no school.

Yeah I know. It still seems like a dream. I'm taking off Thursday to take her and we're going to help her set up some stuff in her room. She spent three weeks there a couple summers ago at a fine arts academy so she's familiar with the campus. I still kinda wish that she had picked something a little closer. I know three hours away isn't that far but it still kinda seems like it. I know I'm going to miss her.
