You should be able to get through about 6 - 7mls of liquid on an 18650 at your power levels.

OK..I definitely need to get the bottom cap and spring then...It lasts me much less...barely a full Rose v.2 ..which is around 3-3.5 mls if I remember correctly

When I sent my P3 Beta back to ProVape to be updated, they replaced the end cap/spring at no charge. But it was a hassle, I agree...

Almost four years vaping and I've yet to either (a) step into a B&M shop, or (b) attend a vape meet.

I can certainly live quite happily without ever going to another vape convention. But my B&M is great and they've helped me a LOT. I'll definitely keep going there. Plus I buy all my juice from them, which is top notch. Yes it is!

I'm with ya, 'Brow. No more big ole vape conventions for me either. We do little bitty local meets, and even outside, we need mega fans to blow the vape away. Kloud Khasing Kali.

Provape has my signature smoke free wrong. Today at 10 am eastern time zone USA made it 2 years smoke free. Finally found a flaw with Provape.

I think it's safe to assume that more updates will come out for the P3.
So how dangerous would it be to let people buy the hardware to update the P3? I mean can they use it to hack the firmware and get hurt or something like that?
Provape got costumers all over the world and like we been reading here some have problems mailing them back.
This makes me think that some people might not want to buy a P3 because of it being such a hassle to get the updates.
Just thinking if there was a easier way to update the P3 it might help people to decide to get one.

two approaches to updating the firmware..On the one hand we have Yihi allowing users to upgrade the firmware of their chips and this is definitely a selling point. But it seems to me companies that maintain rigorous quality standards prefer to do the updating themselves..Provape and Taifun with their the Eye for example do the upgrade themselves

OK ..so I got myself a P3 Beta..and even though it has the very first (beta??) firmware and I got it with the intention of having it as a backup mode for the SXmini, in no time at all it became my primary vape and pushed back all my other mods!

So, being a P3 noob I have a couple of questions that I need help with:

1. Regarding the hardware, do I need to have anything change apart from the bottom cap and spring?
2. Bearing in mind that I rarely sub-ohm or drip and that my build is usually in the 1.2-1.5 range and my wattage is between 12-15 watts, do I need to have the firmware upgrade? Are there any improvements beyond lowering the lower resistance threshold to 0.5 ohms (which is irrelevant to me really given my vaping style)?

I'm asking because it would be a bit of a headache to send the mod from Egypt to Provape, and an even bigger headache getting it back. It's not impossible mind you, but it is just a pain in the .... and I have to do it through some friends living in the US. We did have an authorized dealer in Egypt, but he's no longer in business (this Beta version originally belonged to him).

I have not upgraded from the first released version (not the beta) and don't plan to. I think I would have been just fine with the beta as well. I'm a +/- 1.5Ω, 4.5v, 13.5w Toodle Puffer and proud of it.

Thanks Bronze...I did have my doubts regarding the firmware upgrades. Regarding my first question, I read somewhere that in moving from the beta to the production version, the bottom cap and the spring have been redesigned apparently to reduce voltage loss. If that is the case, then I won't have a problem ordering the new bottom cap and a couple of spare springs online.

If you decide to order a bottom cap, remember to get the ProVarinati design.

LOL!!!!...why is that?? ...it is a 100% Egyptian hand ..but it could be an effect of globalization

It's the Eye of Horus. EddardinWinter created the first ProVarinati sigil and used the Eye of Providence. When I created the second version I used the Eye of Horus: 1) because it reduced better for use in signatures; and 2) I like what the Eye of Horus represents over what the Eye of Providence represents and i haz drawed it. Members use whichever they like best, or sometimes create their own.

The cap is the Eye of Horus with a starburst and PlanofMan's ambigram added - ProVarinati reads the same when upside down.

In the meantime, I have an observation: as much as we trust Our Precious Thrice to protect us from danger, there is a reason for the spring outside of conductivity. In the highly unlikely event that the battery should vent, the spring is designed to collapse. I don't think your FrankenSpring, albeit creative, would offer much protection. Well noted. My abomination is meant to be a temporary fix. Once I place my order (with cloud 9 since Provape is out of stock) and get the bottom cap things will go back to normal.

Make sure you order the P3 version of the endcap.

There are Two versions: one for the 2.5 and one for the P3.
