I owe Sir Rod an apology. Yes, I do! I didn't look at the picture closely.

They look great DP!

If the Omega hadn't been serviced in many years, I'm surprised the cost wasn't higher. Mechanical watches should be serviced about every 5 years and when they are, the servicing costs aren't too bad. When they go much longer, it's like not servicing a car engine for years and then being upset because it costs a lot to service. Trust me though, that Omega is worth far more than cost of service. I'd also suggest at this point, not taking it to an Omega shop. There are likely some very reputable watch service centers in your town who will service it for a lot less. You really only need to use an Authorized Service center while the watch is still under warranty.

And no, it doesn't turn my stomach at all to hear you got an Apple Watch. Sir Rod, will get one too. But likely 2nd generation, as I read an article very recently that the 2nd generation Apple Watch will also include a facetime camera.
Actually, it may be an independent shop. The owner is a friend of my wife's and a reputable source. Although it may be wise to check around.
I have heard values ranging up to $10k, but I wouldn't sell it. It was a gift from my father shortly before he passed away. I am going to curse one of my boys with its ongoing maintenance in the future. They never had a chance to meet their Grandfather.
I bought the Apple Watch mainly because I get an exorbitant number of notifications a day on my iPhone. Very handy to take a quick glance to determine the level of importance.
Lunatik launched a Kickstarter campaign for an aluminum protective case and link band that cinched the deal. Should ship the week of 08/03.
I actually lived long enough to get a Dick Tracy wrist communicator and now you're telling me I have to get a second one w/Facetime!

Sir Rod forgives thee!

That's a family heirloom watch. I hope one of your sons will be delighted and proud to own it someday. Yes I do. And yes, how else do you think Apple will get more people to upgrade their Apple Watch, other than to release newer ones with wiz-bang features! Right?!

Knowledge is power. When I was buying my Subaru it quickly became apparent that I knew more about the company than the sales department. Of course, I spun it so they thought I knew even more than I did and ended up paying less than what I was aiming for. They didn't even bother trying to sell me anything extra when I was able to tell them what they were making on the car. I don't know how people ever negotiated vehicle purchases without the internet.
I just lowballed the hell out of them and walked out. If they called the next day then I knew I got the best price.

It is indeed. I might have to make them rotate possession.
Or, I'll leave my kids a bunch of old Apple Watches and they will have to grow old waiting for the version with a Transporter. That's the one I really want!

Sure pick on the golfer. Golfers rules ocelots drool.

Is Jim in the penalty box now? Or did I miss something?

You spent too much time fixing your clone. Yes a few days for high sticking.

Oh yes, a transporter. I want one too!. Just think how much Star Trek foretold, huh? Cell phones? Check. Tablets? Check. I just read an article about injections, Star Trek style. Check. Surely, transporting will happen one day. Surely.
