Latest edition to my family, arrived today.. Jury is still out on what I think.

Few issues to consider, the top cap comes of with your tank when you unscrew it, the higher button position .. But the biggest concern for me is it only takes 4 presses to enter the menu.. If only it had a setting to increase the number of presses before hitting the menu set up.

It's been noted by others that all you have to do is tighten the top cap with a penny and it won't come off when you remove your tank.

Here's the post from ProVape:

On the center 510 connection there are a couple of things to note. We put coin slots in the top and the bottom of that connector, so you can tighten it with a penny or dime. It makes a huge difference if you tighten up that connector. I had the same issue but as soon as I gave it a little extra turn to make it snug, problem went away and it's not been a issue since. I think some of the dealers that are giving a demo, leave the 510 loose so they can easily take it off by hand to show the P3 connection, but once you get your own device and tighten that up, it won't be a problem.

Please make sure this is in the instruction manual -- and perhaps in caps on the very top! It seems even savy reviewers that often tinker haven't been able to figure this out.

I'm thinking that the final version will come shipped with the top cap more secure?

Yes, we will be putting a little more muscle into the 510 connection to make sure it's tight, but if the user tightens with a penny that will solve the issue too.

Quick photo of the size of the display, it is smaller than the older version. Interesting point is the fit of window is slightly raised, you can feel the edges. Unlike on my older provari 2 & 2.5.

I'm still curious if the 2.5 can be fitted with the P3 top cap ... please Provape ... we need this :|

I wonder if anyone knows the sizing on the new P3 threads. I would love to make my way over to a machinist and have an atomizer made to use that instead of the 510.

I remember reading somewhere here on ECF where Provape said they would not be retrofitting 2.5's with P3 tops. I guess you'll just have to buy a P3 like the rest of us! :vapor::)

Want a V2 with a P3 top cap? If you buy a P3, are good with a solder iron, and don't care about warranty at all, you could probably have one... Given the fact that the tube sections fit on the older Provari's, it's a safe bet that they are the same inner diameter.

Yeah but if you buy a P3, why tear it apart in the hopes that you can backwards engineer it, with an OLDER model?
Why not just enjoy it the way it is?

For anyone who wants the look, the Provape version beauty ring is pretty close to the P3 top cap...and on a silver Mini, they'd look almost identical!

I think it would be smart business on Provape's part ... if new toppers are coming out for the P3 threading ... why not offer a top cap upgrade for the v2 and v2.5 at the very same time you redo the top cap for future 2.5s ... maybe charge $40 each.

All those v2s and v2.5s aren't going to be dying any time soon ... so why not market the new threaded toppers towards them?

sounds like obvious easy money to me ... but hey, I'm not sitting in the Provape boardroom.

I have 5 Provaris and I would get them all retrofitted if the price was right.

Oh I totally agree. I was being satirical(I don't think that's the word I'm wanting). I do agree that a top-cap upgrade option would be a huge money maker for Provape, just like people could send in their V1 and get the board upgraded.

Because they're in the business to sell new devices, not make older one's look and act like the newer one. I can't think of many (if any) companies who retrofit previous models with current model features. From cars to cameras, I can't think of any.

How about the Provari V1? $25 to send it in and have them replace the circuit board with the new V2(V2.5?) model. That's the board that actually makes it do it's thing. This time around, it would just be a top cap. Not that big of a stretch really.

A different time, when the company was new, didn't have any B&M dealers and was trying very hard to ensure their small customer base stayed with them. Different time and day altogether. You can hope, and I'll be happy for you if they eventually offer some retrofitting, but they've said they don't plan to, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't.
