Thanks for the information...

However, a couple of points you got a little muddied on:

1. Provaris have always had reverse battery protection. That's one of their safety features, which are the highest selling points of any Provape product...

With respect, the reverse battery protection in the ProVari has always been physical ( recessed positive contact). The P3 is the first ProVari to have electronic reverse protection. This was made quite clear in the post you responded to.

What's the threading on the P3 again?

It's not 20x1 is it?

If it is not, that means a lot of currently available hybrid toppers aren't going to work with the P3.

20x1 is the closest thing to a standard threading that the market has seen yet.

Zenesis threading hasn't taken off.

But then, it's not a standard diameter anyway so never mind..
I think I read somewhere that it was 21x1, much to my disappointment. I would have preferred to have a 20x1 as well.

I would find it hard to believe after so much testing at the current 20W limit, but it would be a welcome upgrade, even if it does delay the official release by a long time (which would be needed for safety testing). I opened a ticket at ProVape, asking them to clarify this rumor, both here and on the rumor thread, before it gets out of control. Now we wait for the official response....

After two weeks with the provari 3 beta, my feeling have changed.

On opening the box and lifting out P3 my initially felt underwhelmed, it felt flimsy and uninspiring.. I immediately felt disappointed. Here I was with one of the newest & hottest piece of vaping hardware and I was feeling disappointment.

Next was the menu system, it felt complex, hard to navigate and to top it all the new screen felt too small.

The next few hours was a battle with the two piece top cap coming off with every tank & atty I tried.

Back in the box it went and I spend the rest of the evening using my V2.5.

The following day, I decided to try it again, with the top cap screwed down as tight as I dared, I started to play about with the settings and..discovered the joys of hot boost..the menu became simpler to use and even started to make sense.

Over the next few days it grew on me, no longer did the screen feel too small and the menu too complex.

On that first evening, it didn't feel flimsy, it just felt light.. without the battery, tank and end cap.

I guest any existing Provari owner, will have similar feelings at the start, in the hand it feels likes your existing model.. How can it feel any different ? it's the same basic design.

No after two weeks, I feel the changes to the P3 as balanced, measured and considered.. It's a natural progression from the V2.5.

If I could make one change, it would be the three battery set up.. I would recommend they move back to the mini & full size design, hopefully with the rumour of 30watt change, they will offer a 18500 & 18600 only version.. Why ?

I just don't like the three piece design, am finding myself being forced to use the 18500 mode to get rid of that extra extension ring, instead of my preferred 18600 mode.

Just like the V1,2 & 2.5 Provari doesn't blow you away out of the box or indeed bubble wrap for existing users with its looks, no it simply earns your trust day after day....

And I guess this is the real reason.. Why we love them and why the non owners will never understand the real appeal of what makes them the best mod in the world, it mightn't have the power if the dna30 etc but it's earned my trust, when I want to vape, it wants to works.

I for one am a creature of habit. I dislike change. I see most any change as bad (at first). It takes me time to enjoy/like something new or different. Partly human nature, partly just who I am. I expect to get a P3 when I can buy one from ProVape directly. I expect that it will sit for a while, being randomly used, but over time I expect (and hope) it will become one of my two core devices - much as my Billet Box and ProVari 2.5 is now. If you notice, neither of my current devices are V.W. And that is what I really want, as I use stock coils (which vary slightly from coil to coil) and I tend to vape the same juice day in and day out.

I am a 'user', not a hobbyist. I vape rather than smoke. I want easy to use, no muss, no fuss - it is enough to need to check batteries and juice level before leaving the house. I have no desire to (need) to carry spare mods, spare parts while I am out and about. I want a device that I can just pickup and go with - and not worry...

Yes, would be a nice option I have one of the for my V2 mini.. It might just be me, am sure it will annoy many others.. Just the old version had 2 pieces in total for 18650 mode, this one has Cap 2, extension rings 2, end cap 1 ..

It all boils down to you can't please everyone. Some people are going to want to use the P3 in each of the 3 battery sizes. No way around that other than using 2 extension rings. I got a v2.5 extension cap, so my P3 is main tube, extension ring, extension cap. I never did like the v2.5 end cap, and don't like the P3's end cap for the same reason. All-in-one end cap with rounded corners just feels right, and looks cleaner also. Like you said, maybe a single, double-long extension cap for 18650 mode would be a nice accessory, but all things considered, I think ProVape has done their best to please everyone - using all 3 battery sizes right out of the box. Accessorize later... whether that be ProVape or 3rd party accessories.

+1 except when I get my P3, I will use it immediately and I expect it to be my primary device, with my 2.5 as backup. But I'm exactly like you in that I've not turned vaping into a hobby. I vape and quite enjoy vaping and NEVER want to smoke another cigarette again. EVER. I don't want to have lot's of systems, or be building anything. I'm a "plug and play" kind of guy. Add juice, have a good coil, a fresh battery and not be bothered to add anything until I'm getting ready for bed so the next day is as trouble free as possible.

I have been preaching that for years... Standard cap has a sharp edge vs. the extension cap nice rounded comfortable edge.. I am really surprised that Provape never addressed this issue.... Its an easy fix, bevel the edge Provape....;)

I like the rounded feel as well, but I've had more problems with the rounded cap making it easier for my Provari to tip over...the flat caps seem to have just a tad more stability...
As always, to each his own...as I've gotten used to the feel of the flat caps now...the rounded and flat are interchangeable for me, in regards to how they feel in my hand.

Also, I've started using a magnetic strip on my coffee table, to stand my Provaris on...helps keep them where I put them.

Yep, I like the flats on my v2.5 too, thus never use it in 18650 mode >

I love my Tatroe weighted wider base ring. Otherwise I would knock my ProVari over constantly. It sounds like this base will work on the new P3 and I hope that is the case. I am a klutz, and I really dislike knocking my ProVari over all the time.

The Tatroe rings I have, do with with the P3. I think it's safe to assume the wide base will fit.
