What did you think of Dirty Pretty Things? I love Audrey Tautou, Amelie is one of my favorite films.

It's good for the French films that I could find on cable.
It was the 3rd French film in a row yesterday but it was still good enough to finish in one setting.

I watched Joyeux Noel (2005) and Delicacy (2011) today.

I love Audrey Tautou too (222!) and Amélie is my #1 favorite movie of all time.

Funny because my tastes usually run towards intense movies like District B13, Irreversible, 13 Tzameti & Sheitan

...or anything with Monica Bellucci in it

No Orchids for Miss Blandish (1948) - every gangster stereotype you can imagine

Stick with White Heat (1949) for your Top Of The World Ma style gangster movie

Ah yes, nothing like a thread like this to make you realize just how populist your taste in movies really is. A moment whilst me and my sup-par memory check the ole Netflix history..........ah yes. The Puck Hogs, a scintillating little mockumentary about an amateur Canadian hockey team. Yes, I probably did watch this in a wifebeater and boxer shorts. Prior to that I was on a Marvel kick, Thor, Captain America, the Iron Man movies, the Avengers. (I'm into marathons.) Ah! Here we go. Super 8. That one's not too embarassing, right?

Not as embarrassing as liking Super Mario Bros. If you get a chance, watch John Leguizamo's stand up's, freaking hilarious.

I get on a French Film kick every so often. There's a lot of different style stuff worth a watch.

Hockey movies eh?

Goon & Slapshot are really all I need.
Iron Man movies rock!

Leguizamo is a funny dude. Dude. I'm a big Lewis Black fan for standup.

I still haven't gotten to Chasing Mavericks.
Someone else I know mentioned it and I said I knew someone online that loves that movie.
I'll get to it.

I started Brothers Karamazov a lil while ago and so far ok but I dunno if I'll finish it.

Yeah, he's great! I work at a restaurant/bar that has stand-up Thurs-Sun, actually get some pretty big names. Since I've been there we've had Drew Carey, Louie Anderson, Eddie Griffin, Pablo Francisco, just to name a few, but the funniest so far was actually Tom Cotter. He was the guy that got to the end of America's Got Talent just to lose to a dog act. Don't let that put you off though, he's hilarious if you ever get the chance to check him out.

Pablo Francisco is hilarious, the quevo splash is a good bit. I like Lewis Black's political rants and when he does his "face shake" at ridiculous stuff.

I think the last French movie I saw as was French Stewart in McHale's Navy. . . I do love Brotherhood of the Wolf though. I'm more into Seven Samurai, Old Boy, and Battle Royale. I need action if I'm going to listen to a foreign language, I don't need to fully understand why someone is getting their ... kicked.

Watched Only God Forgives the other night and while I am a huge fan of Nicolas Winding Refn's films this one I would have to say is my least favorite of his. Having said that, his worst film is better than most new films out there anyway and it was really beautifully shot and scored. Just a little too much violence for violence's sake and I did not feel attached to any of the characters like I usually do with his films.

I had the misfortune of watching Brighton Rock today.
A few scenes seemed to be occuring during the Brighton Riot from Quadrophenia which was kinda neat.
That wasn't worth the 1.667 hours of my life that are gone and I can't get back.

Now I'm watching The Valet (2006) - much better than that Brighton Rock dross.
