I've got another one. I got a Kick for my P+. I didn't have any 18350
batteries, and God and everybody were all sold out. Vaporologist was kind enough to lend me three of his AW IMR 18350's. Thanks, V!
A few days ago I was transitioning from work to home and had two of his
batteries in my pocket, along with my work keys. My pocket started getting extremely hot. I pulled out my keys, scorching my fingers in the process. I went to pull out the
batteries, and one of them was too hot to touch. I had to turn my pocket inside out and sort of let the battery flop onto the floor, then I had to use a pot holder to pick the battery up and take it into my garage to toss into a metal bucket just in case it decided to get all explodey. (It didn't.)
So anyway, one of Vaporologist's batteries is now toast, and the second one has a melted scar on the side. The burn blisters on my fingertips have healed now though.
I told V about this battery mishap, who told me not to worry about replacing them. He's such a great guy. I don't think he uses 18350's much anyway, so I've got him a present ordered to make up for the batteries.
Moral: keep your batteries in an anti-static bag (or at least a sandwich bag if nothing else).
