Ohm meter reads 502 with 26g kanthal?

When I use 28g kanthal it reads just fine. 1.5ohms, 1 ohm etc etc.

However today I picked up some 26g and this is my fourth coil I have tried and they all read like this:





502? Huh?

have you tryed the ohm metter without any coils? what does it read that way?
perhaps you got some non resistance wire

I figured it out. I made another 28g coil at 1.2ohms and then when I added another it read 600. I.E. .6ohms

Yes - the newer ones drop the decimal for sub ohm coils to give more accuracy.

First time i saw it i freaked out too - since i usually hit about 1Ω and it read 1.00 on an old one and 997 on a new one

good and second version of the ohm meter - see it as .502 Ohm

Good to know. But I don't know if I'd like that or not. It's kinda weird. Just not use to the idea.
