Hi, so I decided recently to move from a Sub-ohm tank to an rda as I wanted more flavour and it seemed like a natural progression. I did a lot of research first and bought some pre built coils just to get me started and used to setting coils/wicking. I brought myself an ohms meter and all the kit I would need. Now after dry burning and making sure coils are glowing evenly and wicking, my mod is showing different ohms. Typically it jumps any from around .250 to .265 to .278 or even .290. What I would like to know is if this is something I should be worried about? Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,
Are you using SS wire?
SS wire (and others) changes resistance as it heats up.
It should be stable once it cools.

What mod are you using?
What "should" the resistance be for the pre-built coil?
How does it vape?

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. The wire is Kanthal and per single coil should be .0.32 but i'musing dual coil. The mod I'm using is smok r-kiss with dead rabbit.

A single coil at .32Ω equals a dual coil at .16Ω.
Your devices "should" show a dual coil build at approx .16-.15Ω.
If not, recheck all connections, grub screw tightness and check for shorts on the bare deck and with the top cap on. (coil height and width)

If all else fails, pull the coils and start over.

Hello @a1m330910, as @Izan has stated there's a bad connection somewhere in your RDA. So if all else fails, you'll need to dismantle and reassemble it making sure that everything is tightened up properly.

That hopefully will sort it out, let us know how things go and good luck.

The Steam Crave Hadron looks interesting but expensive if you're really wanting to treat yourself, the Squonk addon is yet to be released. But dual 21700 is always good for low resistance high mass builds.

And have you tried flat wire @a1m330910? It's pretty good for simple coils with a large surface area, and you can get hold of it pretty cheap.
