Four Echo batteries. Two still work. This is after a week.
I've ordered more and they're on the way, but this is too expensive. If another one dies, I'm giving up on the Echos (1300mah, if that matters).

I need a battery that will last 12 hours while I'm at work and commuting. I like the 3 ml cartos of the Echo. Don't want to go over to the tank side.

Is there a good-quality battery AND ADAPTER setup ( I have been appalled at the cheap quality of the adapters that came with my batteries - cheap, wobbly, loose fittings, etc.) that will not die on me or require constant tinkering?

Thanks.

<frustration very high right now>

You could always move up to a mod with bigger batteries but I can't recommend anything specific.

I really love my 1000mAh ego batteries w/ USB passthrough. I get more than a full day out of each of them and they can be used while charging in the car or at the computer. I've been using this pair since early Nov. and haven't noticed a drop in capacity yet. If you really like those cartos, you can get the echo-e version for ego batts.

I'm guessing you have had no battery dying issues? Is the ego a 510 or 808 thread? I'm heavily invested at this point in the 808 stuff... probably a bad choice....

I don't use an echo, but found these little blurbs in case they help. batteries should certainly last longer than a week! some more details might help. maybe it's the charger?

quotes from this thread (auto battery): http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/standard-e-cigarette-reviews/192935-echo-cool-vapes-beautiful-automatic-mega-fat-batt.html

Long charge time (9 hours): Your 1300 mAh battery will fully charge overnight … if you get a good night’s sleep. This is made up for by the high mAh, i.e., I don’t fully discharge my battery during the day. And remember: the kit includes two batteries; long before one battery has faded, the other is fully charged.

Since it is automatic, the battery is (necessarily) unsealed. The cartomizer must be removed from the battery prior to filling or topping off. However (other than an initial drip-through if overfilled), the carto doesn’t leak, so the chance of battery damage is minimal.

maybe some of that will help until someone who knows something comes along .....

Thanks, Cags. Yes, I've done the research, tried the tweaking and fiddling suggestions, have had no luck. I'm hoping I can get the supplier to answer my e-mails and hopefully work with me on returning these batteries.

But I need a backup and I need suggestions on an indestructible option. Obviously I realize all the pieces of e-cigs are disposable, and that batteries don't last forever. But a week isn't right. I've been very careful about leaks, dripping, etc. I know that's not it. It's the cheap construction of either the adapter/charger or the battery end. So now I want to hear about the good-quality stuff.

I've had no issues with these batteries at all. I have 3 in total that I rotate through. They are all branded Joytech ego-t batteries. 1 650 mAh and 2 1000mAh USB passthroughs. They are 510 connections. If you go with the USB version, you can use an eGo charger on the threads or just plug a mini usb cable into the bottom... no adapter or dongle required. They aren't the cheapest batteries out there but I'm confident in them which is worth a few bucks IMHO.

On the other hand, is your original vendor doing anything for you ? That many dead batteries in such a short time is unacceptable. Just out of curiosity, what are you using adapters for ? Is it a possibility that these are damaging your batteries ?

Unfortunately, I got mine in a starter kit which you probably don't want to need... They came from DFW vapor. I can highly recommend them for their customer service but their selection is somewhat limited and the prices are not always the cheapest so your mileage may vary. That said, customer service is worth a lot to me. They messed up my initial order and I ended up with 1 650 and 1 1000 mAh battery. When all was said and done, they let me keep the 650 and shipped me a new 1000mAh. It was all resolved in a matter of days.

The batteries are expensive enough that it may be better to buy a kit instead of 2 batteries. That way, you'll have the USB cable and the screw-on charger as a backup. You'll also have a couple of T Attys and empty tanks that you could use or even try to sell and recoup some of your money. You should be able to get about $20 for a couple of atomizers and 5 new tanks. If I remember correctly, the kit does not include the wall wart.

If I go ego, I'd have to get the starter kit, as my echo stuff is all 808. i guess I could get an 808-501 adapter, though.
OK, we gotta run to a concert. I have my fingers crossed that the two charged batteries will see us through. Thank you so much for your support - I'm amazed and appreciative, as always, at the wonderful folks on this forum :)
