OMG!!:w00t:

I received my Vapor King kit yesterday. All I can say is WOW!!

I started out with Blu cigs. They got me off analogs for a little bit until the equipment failed.

Ordered a Vapre51 which is a decent device, but I never really got out of it what I was expecting.

So I ordered a 510 because everyone raved about it. I really liked the 510 at first. Great vapor and all that, but as most people know the battery life sucks and the passthrough died within a month. Also, I started dripping exclusively because I got so fed up with dealing with carts and fillers. After awhile, no matter how often I cleaned them, my atomizers starting clogging up very quickly and I never got much flavor from the 510.

So finally after the novelty of DIY, cart mods, battery mods, etc. wore off, I decided I wanted something simple and relatively maintenance free so as an early BD gift to myself, I ordered the VK.

Here's what I think so far...

1. The XL batteries are amazing! The first one came charged (not sure if it was a full charge or not) but I got over 5 hours of pretty steady vaping before it died. The most I ever got on my Vapre51 was 2 hours and all my other batts lasted less than an hour on average.

2. The passthrough doubles the vapor, but runs a bit hot so I use it sporadically. It also seems a lot more sturdy than the 510 PT that I had.

3. Flavor! Flavor! Flavor! Almost overwhelming actually. Besides the fact that I ordered WAY too high strength carts, (The throat hit even on the 18mg about knocks me over.) I can finally taste a difference in the juices. I've helped this by using the spin method to drain some of the juice out, mixing it with some VG and dripping it back in. This has increased my vapor 10fold and cut the harshness of the flavor and TH to a comfortable level. It's still not quite the fog machine that my VaporMaxx is, but it's getting pretty close with the VG and breaking the cartos in a bit. I'm getting at least as much if not more vapor now than with my 510.

4. The Lanyard. I highly recommend one of these to any chain vapor. If I had a nickle for everytime I've said "where's my e-cig??" I'd be rich! It is very well made and even has holes down the front for the button to peek through on my manual with whatever length battery I'm using.

5. So far the drags are pretty consistent in flavor and vapor. I rotate carts quite a bit, but they are lasting about 5-6 hours from what I can tell. My 510 carts lasted maybe 30min if I didn't constantly top them off every 5-7 drags.

5. With the PCC, Wall Charger, and 2 USB chargers (one for the wall unit adapter) I never run out of charged batteries.

The only downside I'm experiencing is that I'm probably going to go broke trying to find what carts/juices I like the best. I ordered several of the sample packs, but I'm not too crazy about a lot of the flavors so now I'm hesitant to buy 5packs of the others I'm interested in. I've seen the carto swap thread though and that might be my salvation.

Overall, this is by far the best e-cig purchase I've made yet. I still have my 510 for backup (though I've given most of my spare batts to my bf)and I use my VaporMaxx when I'm at work or when I want to surround myself in a cloud for awhile, but I think the VK will be my goto from here on out.

My thanks go out to everyone at V4L for their awesome customer service, fast shipping and quality products. I've lurked on this subforum for awhile wondering what all the fuss was about...now I understand.

Sorry for the novel. I'm just excited :D

so glad it's worked out for you!

i'll say this--the VK PT has its issues too, which is why a new version is coming out. you may want to do something to secure the wire (drop of superglue gel, or gently fold it back and tape the suckah), but with the smilin warranty, it's not a big deal. i friggin love my PT. :D

the carto swaps are excellent, and ordering the 5mls aren't bad for trying new stuff... and if you don't love what comes in a 5 ml bottle, sometimes mixin it with something else does the trick, too.

We try to tell people ;-)

Welcome aboard, glad you're liking it! I have found that the PT varies a bit depending on what I have it plugged into. For example, I have a dual-outlet 2A USB adapter, and if I have it plugged into that by itself, it seems to get hotter than if I have it plugged into a computer or DVD player.

I agree with Belle...The 5ml bottles are $3. They are your best bet for experimenting. Rinse whatever prefilled cartz you have but don't like and refill them with something else.

You can also buy a box of blanks. A box of blanks and 5 small bottles of juice will cost you $24 if I'm remembering prices correctly.

It's a great way to try different strengths and flavors.

Thanks Belletrist!

I understand about the PT's. I'm already working on something to secure the cord, but it is at least a heavier cord than I had with the 510.

Anyhow.. It's good to see another fellow Virginian!

Pianoguy,

I have a dual outlet usb as well and that is what I am using. The usb ports on my laptop are sad at best so I don't use them as a powersource anymore. I'd still diggin the PT though.

Taryn,

Thanks for the spin method. Pure genius!

And thanks to everyone else for the warm welcomes!

absolutely! especially after our hypocritical tobacco state decided to go smoke free. lolz. & i adddoooooreee my PT which is the only reason i warned you. cause once you're PT hooked, it's traumatic when it dies. having it replaced is easy, but doesn't do much for the omfg my pt is dead! feeling. ;)

Yeah, I can't believe they included e-cigs in the ban too. However, my boss is deliberatly trying to get a citation for vaping so he can fight it in court and set a precident. It should be amusing.

i vape any-and-everywhere. *shrugs* i don't advertise it and no one notices. how can something that people don't notice be against the law? :D

Yeah I'm getting stealth vaping down to a science. Especially at the movies. I love not having to get up and miss a scene.
