I would opt for products actually used as surgical wire (e.g. suture wire) for 316L. SouthPointe offers 316L manufactured and drawn (Babcock) in Germany. Delco Wire Winding offers 316L manufactured and drawn (Babcock) in the USA. I use wire from both vendors which are delivered wound on wooden spools.

Interesting idea. In a country where they don't being stuff like this I guess I can hit the medical supply depos and see if I can find this.. Rack up on some backup

just a noobie question i read most use SS316L with TC. Have anyone else use it otherwise in sub ohm build?

I use 316L exclusively in mechanical and VV/VW devices. Performance has been absolutely fantastic.

as a matter of fact, i heard lately on some other forums that kanthal is the culprit behind bad ejuice taste and that SS is the new best wire to use?

Oh dear good!

Ripped my coil out today at work to rebuild, didn't realize I only had Kanthal and no SS wire on me.....

No freakin comparison. It actually taste nasty compared to SS.

Amazon carries 316L from Copper Wire USA in 100ft rolls for about $7, more or less depending on gauge. It comes in 50 and 100 ft coils.
