OK, now I am getting confused.

I have read through a lot of threads, and there simply is too much to digest.

I had a smoking battery, which has led me to look carefully at what I have and to see if maybe I was using something together that I shouldn't. After reading a lot of posts, i can definitively say I have no idea.

Here is what I have:

Manual mega-510 battery.
Stock blank cartomizers from madvapes. What difference does the ohm rating make? I see on their site they carry some with different ohms. Is that the resistance? If so, what would be safe for the battery I have?

I also have recently bought some atomizers. I hope i got some that will work OK with the battery, but again I don't know anymore after reading everything. I do not think there was anything special about them, they didn't say the were LR. The cartomizers did not say LR either, but they did give an ohm rating.

I am assuming that the best combo would be where the battery and carto/atty ohm ratings match; but I I can't find any ohm rating for the batteries, just the mah rating. The ohm rating on the carto is 2.5; which again i have no idea if this is acceptable or not. The attys i bought are the 3.2-3.4 ohm models. Again, i don't know anymore what is acceptable.

Thanks in advance for any info. I ask because I am almost thinking that my remaining battery is beginning to smoke also. (Although it could well be just the known smoking battery smell lingering)

I have used lr atty's and carto's on 510 manual megas and Ego's without any issues at all. can you tell if your battery is sealed? maybe some liquid got down in the battery. The battery should have some sort of short protection. are you using the correct charger? Auto's are a different story. I had some that just came on while lying on the table.

The batteries are sealed, they are manual. i am using the USB charger that came with the kit. What I think happened with the other battery is that the switch died after 2 weeks. After it cooled down, I noticed there was no play at all with the switch. Couldn't press it down, or move it up. It may have just been a coincidence that it happened when I first put on a new carto. I threw the carto out just in case.
