Ok now I'm confused about PG

I've been vaping about 6 weeks and this entire time I thought the sole purpose of PG was to provide throathit and thin the juice for easier wicking in tank type devices. Today I read from someone who makes a very successful juice line whos opinion I respect, that PG provides flavor. I also vape at 24mg nic so my 80/20 vg/pg juices provide more than enough throathit and the flavor seems pretty darn rich to me. Am I missing out on a possibly better experience by only vaping high-max VG juices? Would a 50/50 to 65/35 at 24mg nic be just an absurd amount of throat hit in a sub ohm dripper lung inhale? Does anyone who vapes 50/50 at 18-24 nic want to share your thoughts, preferably how it hits in 1-1.2 ohm kayfun type devices and how it .3-.44ohm drips? Thanks

Most vendors know how to adjust their flavoring to balance it out with the pg/vg, or in your case vg/pg, to get the best flavor for that mix. I wouldn't worry about not getting the flavor with any ratio.

As for the rest of your questions? I will leave that for others more knowledgeable than I. I dont drip or sub ohm vape. :)

I started vaping 50/50 at 18 mg in a clearo. I then got into dripping and subohm vaping a year or so later. I am now using mostly VG liquids at 3 - 6 mg. I would bet that at 65% PG and 24 mg nic you would get one hell of a throat hit at .3 ohms. The highest nic level I can vape at .28 ohms is 9 mg, and that is a 50/50 blend. Anything higher and I choke on it. You may be different, but I would be wary of a high PG plus high nic liquid on a subohm dripper.

PG is relatively transparent in terms of flavor, VG, on the other hand, is sweet and it mutes flavor. Sometimes it creates a smoother taste, other times it just makes the flavors muddy and indistinct.

In fact, this is why PG is really used- it is a carrier, that's what it's used for in the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry. VG, on the other hand, is not widely used as a flavor carrier. The throat hit is really secondary; some people find the throat hit of PG unrealistic compared to smoking.

A good vendor will create distinct flavors for exclusively VG based blends vs. PG-heavy blends (for example, what Aroma E Juice does- they have a separate line for VG-based juices). A mediocre one will just use the same flavor bases in both.

Pure VG/PG don't taste like anything. If you do taste something in your base its either impure or you're atty has some residue or whatever.

Anyway, it is true that PG is better for flavors. For one - VG dampens the flavors somewhat while PG doesn't and second - PG irritates taste buds which makes them a bit more jumpy.
Most of the time a similar amount of perceived flavor can be achieved by just adding more flavoring but with some flavors there is no substitute to PG based liquid.
This is easily observable by diy'ng, i usually do 20/80 VG/PG and 5% flavor but if i go 50/50 i need to bump it up to at least 10%.

You drip 24mg ? I can't put my mod down so I went to dripping 6mg and 12-24mg in the clearomizers. I tried dripping the 24.....ONCE, LoL

I do and im talking full sub ohm lung inhales, my buddies at the local shop look at me like im a crackhead when I do but I'm just not getting the nicotine with kayfun mouth to lung inhales. I havnt even had a slight urge to smoke since taking my first vape about 6 weeks ago so im fine doing it and am told ill eventually come way down in nic preference. . I'm also told its because im still fairly fresh off of 1-1.5 packs of newports a day, an extremely strong cigg.

Thats very interesting, i dont mix my own so Im stuck wondering what to order on a site, ratio wise. Right now 65-35vg/pg to 80-20vg/pg is all Ive tried. I have a small bottle of 50/50 on the way to try out, 18 nic so we shall see
