First off - thank you for the videos!!! They are perfect and very simple to follow and it made it WAY less intimidating.

I will be building your micro on the teeny screwdriver LOL. Well actually almost, my friend ordered me 28ga kanthal so I will probably use that method on a 5/64 drill bit.

Also - let it be known - I would still prefer a coil building cabana boy. :D Way less work for me that way.

But I have everything I need (well except the kanthal - but it looks like that will come today) MM, RM2, organic cotton, Reo, fresh batteries and plenty of juice!

Many of us have picked up one of these "30 second coil builder" Amazon.com: Artistic Wire Coiling Gizmo(R) Deluxe Winder for Jewelry Making: Arts, Crafts & Sewing and here is the instructional video

I did it. First coil has been built.

Targeted 1.5 came in at 1.4. vaping away :) Not flawless but its fairly pretty. No hot spots and wicking without using not enough/to much was easy based on Super_X's video. It is very tiny and tinker-y(is that a word?) but its not as painful as I had suspected. :D

Excellent! Don't get too good at it or you'll end up doing all your man's coils too!

On second thoughts that may have its advantages...

I found I started to get really good results after I became .... about the precise positioning of the coil, at the correct height and right near the airhole. Before that, I used to rush the mounting of the coil, which didn't work so well.

How does it vape? Do you find that it was worth waiting for?

The first ones are always the hardest, after you build a few, it's a piece of cake. BTW, you have to balance "tinker-y" with how often you have to make a new one. Mine are usually good for a month, then I decide I want a new one and change it, just because I can :)

Thats what the SO is for... ;)

Oh NO. He would blow me up. He is amazing with architecture and understanding complicated geometry like a ....... hip roof or something, but ANYTHING technology related - absolutely not. He JUST started texting and he has had a smart phone for several years...he also doesnt understand the symbol emoticons and literally types out "winky face" LOL.

He has only learned how to dry burn and screw in the replacement coils for his vivi nova. He gave me my mini (sort of) back - because he keeps forgetting to squonk. Yeah I can envision the hot mess of insanity he would make - YIKES. lol. NO thanks.

I was thinking for when he gets his own Reo, cause he's not going to last long on a vivi nova when there's a Reo in the house. If he takes hers, he's gotta buy creeps another one!

He took my mini when I got my grand and subsequently partially returned it - he said - and I quote - "it tastes burny a lot since I forget to poke the bottle thingy" He even uses the nova over a nice IBTanked. He has issues.

Gratz on starting to build your own coils! It's very satisfying. Soon (if you don't already), you might start making your own juice, if you don't vape only unflavored (never did see what you vaped).
And as far as DIY I do DIY liquid, but I cant duplicate my ADV :( I use Deadly Sin 99% of the time and the other 1% is unflavored or a random delicious treat from zamplebox...

Hmmm sounds like the mrs... but she helps, enjoys the diy so there is that...

however she finds ways to ruin things, simple anything, still gets ruined... i mean for kanger the vertical micro coil was perfection for me... the first one i did made all other kanger coils obsolete.... easy to rewick, just awesome...

never worked for her... took one and took a few pulls the only problem i had was the constrained draw from the mini protank...

just wows me...

then again its probably best we keep to ours... they would be up S creek without a paddle
