I don't know how old "old enough" is. But I have a very fine tuned bs meter as well which makes me no fun in threads like this I guess lol. Oh well. I can live with that.

A little over 6 decades I believe qualifies me as "old enough". In that time I've seen the best of the BS'ers and none of the best of them them have I have ever seen on ECF.

I've got a provari and it's a nice device. American made and a warranty is what really sold me. That was worth the extra cash in my opinion. Not a member of any groups and don't plan on joining any. Truth is, I don't use it anymore and probably won't as I'm partial to mechanicals now.
I was dead set on keeping it but I think I'm going to get myself verified and sell it on the classifieds. I'd rather know it's being used and appreciated by someone that really wants it instead of checking batteries and ohms for someone who doesn't.

I hope the OP is just trolling.

I don't own a Provari, and given the price vs my frugalness, I doubt I ever will...but I personally loved this story.

The only thing I would have done differently would have been to let the vape shop lady go into her sales pitch mode and would have let her offer me some "great low cost" replacements for my expensive wares until the owner came out, then I would have smiled and asked him if her selections would be suitable replacements for <putting my gear on the counter> these fine items.

Of course...I am an .... :2cool:

Pretty sure we've fed the troll enough at this point. There's always that small percentage of ___holes that make everyone else look bad.

Personally I have no issue with the device or 99% of the people who own one. There are a lot of upsides to it (warranty/made in USA/rock solid construction) but man do I get tired of hearing from that 1%
Im getting into mechs and RBA's too now so don't know how much longer I'll keep my current setup.

I've seen the term "troll" used a lot here. What exactly does it mean?

n Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[6]

Thanks for the definition of "troll" guys. For the record, even though I don't like the OP's attitude, I don't think their intention was trolling. They just posted a sarcastically, and what they thought was, humorous story. No real harm done here as a troll would do.

I agree. IMO people toss around the troll thingy too frequently.

It doesn't take much, does it

I can tolerate the hyped up bravado as much as the next guy but It was the remark about Beating a female up that disgusted me. I have no tolerance for Violence against women. Be it in jest or not. Zero Tolerance. That's not a Pro or Nay Provari stance...That's just being a Man and saying I don't play around about Assaulting Women with my almighty mod...:2c: Just to give props where they're due, It was a Provari owner who put the OP in check on #5 post so there's that....

We aren't all elitists. Unfortunately the good ones among us get lumped in with the people with no filter. I appreciate the respect. I try to keep my posts respectful and on topic. I just found this (most likely fictional) story to be not in keeping with how I wish to be portrayed as a ProVari owner. We are not all mindless zombies. :)

And the beating of a female with the "mighty ProVari" kinda ...... me off too.

I was thinking that one day I would get a Provari. I don't think I want one now. :(

There's nothing wrong with a ProVari. There is something wrong with people whose ego is inflated by owning one. I have a ProVari and an MVP. Sometimes I think the MVP would have been sufficient. It operates just as well, if not better, than the ProVari.

It has nothing to do with the Provari. It is the person. I assume everything he buys he does it to create a status symbol. While I think the Provari is a great PV a $200.00 item is not much of a status symbol. I would guess everyone on the forum could save up and buy a Provari.

Personally I don't judge an entire group of people based on the actions of a few ego maniacs.

If the story is truly fictional then I assume the Provari is fictional too. He picked Provari knowing it would start and us and them thread. Glad to see only a couple posts went that way.

Whether or not its true I still think he is an ... clown. If not true he is trolling, if true he has some serious issues and needs to get back on his meds.

I've never met a Provari owner, but in my mind I always visualize them as looking like hipsters. Skinny tight jeans, big square glasses, weak wrists....

We have a few hipsters where I live and I like to walk behind them and step on their heels so they have to stop and readjust their shoes.
Pretty childish on my part and I always apologize, but I continue to do it. Do you think I have a problem?

Lol that's fairly presumptuous. The only ProVari owners I know are a maintenance technician (myself) and a college math professor. Also my B&M owner, who may or may not be a hipster..
