OK these mods are getting out of hand. Wow. Pleasant experience with cig-alikes from a habitual mod buyer/user.

I have spent thousands of dollars on all these mods, vivi novas, clearos, cartos, everything.
I never gave these volt batteries a chance. they are truly rocking my world right now lol.
I mean it might just be that this 1 cartomizer is working fantastically. haha.
I don't think its a super low resisted carto, as I said above, its around 2 ohms.

I take a hit off my provari with a brand new metal vivi nova and its just not as good as the volt right now.
I can customize everything with the provari and the different resisted coils I use on it in ALL the heads I use.
But this volt battery with a simple short cartomizer is nuts. NUTS.

It almost makes me angry. I almost want to bring everything to a swap and trade it all for more cig-alike supplies.
I have to admit, the Volt batteries with the "nano" clearomizer? Horrible.
So it kind of is just that this cartomizer is performing extraordinarily well. But I bet thats just a difference in carto vs. nano clearomizer, not representative of what I will get if I buy more cartomizers for my volt batteries.

I was going to save up for a new mechanical mod with a new rebuildable atomizer.
I had my eye on one, and I had the perfect RBA tank for it. But now? I almost want another volt kit.

Ever consider that vivi novas just suck and cartos are better? Put a cart with the right resistance on a battery, be it cig-a-like or larger PV, you get the same thing as long as it is wet. 3.6 from a little battery works the same as on a big battery. Put a vivi on it, it sucks no matter what you use because they just can't wick well enough. You have to do the tilt and swirl business to even make it work well enough for one hit, much less consistent hits. I know people like them, but I just can't see why when they don't last long and can't deliver?

What the problem for me with the cig-a-likes are I got sick of charging them every hour. Consider each battery only lasts x amount of charges, you are basically paying all that money for less working time overall. I want the same hit, time after time, with as little fuss as possible. Get an RBA working right, you have it for days, even weeks sometimes with no tilt and swirl, no head changing or any other nonsense. Just refill.

Get rid of the clearos altogether, use the cartos (best in a tank) on whatever works for you. If you want a little more set up time, but a longer functioning unit with every hit, get the RBA.

In the end, if it makes you happy use it. If you can afford to buy up the little batteries and replace them often, go for it. I want one holder I can replace a $10 battery once a year, with a nice wick and coil I can tailor to my needs that will last a long time with no problems.

ETA: sorry if this offends, just drinking the wine after watching Walking Dead so I am a bit on edge

I have a handful of 510 automatics, in the longer 350 mAh size, that I top with LR Boge, Vision cartos and Vivi Nanos. Great for when I want to vape hands free. The Nanos are great, about 2.5 ohms, clear body, and really just a tiny carto tank. (Okay, okay, I dropped one and broke it, so I just had to see what it was!)

Along with a few Spinners in 1300 mA, and an MVP. Usually carto tanks on those. Or clearos if I'm trying new flavors.

Well I do use cartos with my mods. I use carto tanks. that was what was on my provari before I took it off and switched to the brand new vivi nova. and the vivi nova definitely gives a lighter hit than the carto. and burns if you put the voltage up. I haven't modded this head yet, its brand new. but usually after modding the heads the vivi novas work great as long as I tip the juice in. I don't like cartos because they tighten up faster than vivi nova heads. I'd usually rather be able to vape for a week or two with a vivi head than use carto tanks. Plus I bought into vivi novas because I was trying to stock up on things that I could rebuild if I would need to.

This carto on the Volt is already starting to tighten up after using it for 2 days. which is beginning to refresh my mind on why I disliked cartos on fixed volt or unregulated mods. But even so, the Volt is nice. Its not inherently a bad vape if you do not mind replenishing the cartos and batteries as they die.

I still sometimes use my Volt and VaporSmith cigalikes. It always surprises me how well they work! They are automatics, mostly, and sometimes I just like an automatic, y'know? And, well...sometimes smaller is just better. It's all good, really.

Hi fourthrok!!! long time no see my Lady.

eh I take my ego batts with me everywhere.
My vamo is not leaving the house.
The last time my husband took my pv to work he dropped it and now the vivi nova has a crooked center post.
Not cool man not cool.

I learned the same lesson when I loaned a co-worker my vamo. Her's got stolen and I let her use mine till payday. Now it's scratch and all bruised up. Oh well it's in the backup drawer and I don't use it anymore. Lesson is that I'll loan my cheap eGo's and keep the nicer stuff for ME.

No problems. I got a lot of different nicer mods to use. The Vamo will be a backup for the backups that have backups. Did I mention backups?.

Good to hear it. And do you have mods that you enjoy when you can?

Who else uses cig-alikes along side their mods? Everyone? Majority? Minority?

That's exactly what I do. Two cig-a-likes and a PCC for the day, and a couple eGo's at home. "At home" isn't very often, so while I started with Vision clearos on the eGos, they've slowly become just more batteries for the cig-a-like cartos. I like cartos. I understand them. They're plenty reusable but cheap enough to be disposable if need be. Maybe I just don't appreciate it as much, but I haven't tried anything at the B&M shop that screamed "I TASTE WAY BETTER THAN A CARTO." Sure, dripping tastes stronger. Not that much, and certainly not enough to warrant it needing upkeep every 8 puffs.

It was funny to come across this thread because I was just thinking the other day about digging out an old G6 batt that I still have. I run a provari with a carto tank normally. Too bad I don't have any more 808 cartos left for it.:(

dude pick up a couple LR super shorty cartos. the vapor is so warm.
