Oklahoma NEEDS your help

Hey all.

First and foremost I want to take a minute to thank everyone again for the thoughts and prayers.

On a positive note the confirmed death toll has has been reduced from 51 to 24. At this time we are not sure how that happened, but are thankful none the less.

Some of you may be wondering how you can help. The easiest way that anyone here can help is to simply text the word "food" to 32333 which will go to the oklahoma regional food bank to help feed victims.

You can also text "redcross" to 90999 which will go to the local red cross to help with more than just food

When you send that text it will add $10 to your phone bill, or deduct $10 from your balance if you have pre-paid, and that money will go directly to the Oklahoma red cross.

I know that $10 doesn't seem like much, but absolutely everything helps, and will mean the world to people who have lost everything.

I urge everyone...... if you can afford a small ten dollar donation please do so.

Jason, great news on the reduction. It is still terrible but that number being reduced means more survivors.

That is fantastic to hear...... thank you for taking the time to help.

While I don't know how many of the members here have donated......I have a feeling that many of you have.

I personally thank all of you that have, and I know that it will be an amazing help to those whose lives have been totally turned upside down.

It is so easy to take things for granted, and i think that most of us do, but to someone who has just lost absolutely everything that they owned, a few dollars to buy something as small as a pair of dry socks can mean the world.

The outpouring of support has been nothing short of remarkable, and it is amazing to see the way that not only Oklahomans....but all Americans, and people all over the world come together in the face of tragedy.

I know that many people think that a $10 donation is too small to make a difference, but i can assure you any amount that people can give makes a world of difference.

Once again I sincerely thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers.

I saw a picture on fb my friend posted of the warren movie sign. After the tornado it left the words

I live very close to moore but im away at work in texas right now. Its still hard to believe. The videos ive seen on the news look like a warzone. I was planning on going to the warren this weekend as i do on most my days off.

They are actually planning on re-opening the Warren this Friday.

I don't know if you were around in 1999 or not, but as far as the view from I35 goes, the damage doesn't look nearly as bad (as in '99). There some damage, sure, but in '99, going through on 35, all you could see was scorched earth from miles in all directions. That's not to say that the overall damage is not as bad or worse, just that the area through I-35 is not as bad.

I was living in northwest oklahoma in 99 (woodward) and never came to the city to see the aftermath of that one. Hell just before i left woodward last year we had a tornado hit there. Of course it wasnt npthing in cpmparison but the damage there was still extensive. Especially being a smaller town.

I plan on gping down there after i get back home to see hoe things are.

I was around then as well and just drove north to 89th st. this morning and while i35 isn't as bad as it was in '99, the overall damage is worse...I live exactly 1 mile south of 19th st.(or 149th, whatever you wanna call it), and it's just horrible, It took me 2 hours today and it usually takes 15-20 minutes (with traffic)...

My boys and I have already donated. I have family in OK who thankfully weren't hit but how could I not help others when I know they would have helped my family if the tables were turned?
