My recent email to vapor4life. Draw your own conclusions:

2 days ago there was a coupon for 30% off everything EXEPT the dial-a-volt, even though the coupon specifically said
> "Take up to 30% off all orders* with coupon code: CLOCK2013
> Want more vapor for 2013? Try out the all-new Vapor4Life Dial-A-Volt!"

These two sentences together led me to believe that I can use my coupon code to buy a dial-a-volt. Then it didn't work, and when I called support (frustrated with you guys AGAIN! I must be a masochist to keep using you guys!) When I called support for this, he acted like I'M an idiot.

I wanted two 900 whatever dial a volts. The one I have is aging and doesn't hold a charge all day anymore. No more "family" (must be a joke there somewhere) program. And now totally misleading emails.

Fortunately I was able to find another site with the same thing (actually 1300's) for $25 each. (For new users, that is half price of the V4L 1300.)

Then the next two days, I got emails with coupons that offered 30% off and allowed the dial-a-volt. Too bad I guess, your telephone support was rude and I gave up and found a new, better, cheaper source for the same or better item at half the price with no coupon.

I really want to fire you all. I like your products, but your people skills are way lacking.

I am able to make my own flavor and cartomizers, but I do like your peach. That's not much to keep me doing business with you all.

I have been a long time loyal customer and you are losing me so quickly it's not even funny. I have CRIED twice recently talking to your telephone "support". Any dollar I give you in the future will just be a sign of my own stupidity.

Hello and Welcome to ECF, :)
I'm sorry to read they made you cry, no vendor irrespective of what they're selling should have this effect on a customer.
It's poor PR and Customer Service, the least they could've/ should've done is contact you personally, apologised and given you the offer they initially rejected. I don't think any one of us expect red carpets and flowers but we do expect our loyalty to be taken seriously.

If you really like peach, have a look at Rawr, they have some great peach flavours and Peach Serum and Sugared Peach seem to be a real winners on ECF.;)

Being a V4L customer can be quite frustrating sometimes. I bought the dial a volt for almost $50 when it came out, then realised it didn't have ego threads. Which was disappointing cause it only works with there cartos or tanks. Then one week later the price drops in half. I am not surprised there sale literature is misleading or incorrect cause they have a sale every freakin day, I finally had to unsubscribe from the email blast cause I could not take it anymore

Thanks, both. I actually woke up early to delete this post, thinking it might be rude or overly harsh, but you seem to have taken it well. V4L does have great products. And I will probably go back shopping there again... But I will try the Rawr you suggested. I have been vaping 4 years, peach 8, from V4L most of that time, and I like the 808 connections, if only because at some point it gets hard to switch. I intended to post this on the V4L forum, but my rights were rescinded back to NOOB since I haven't been around in a couple years. But last night I thought it was TMI for a NOOB forum. I guess it is OK. You guys aren't babies.

V4L is the most strict company I have ever met in not allowing Customer Support to offer anything to "make it right." They are quick and easy for returns or exchanges, but CS is apparently not allowed to do anything but talk. They used to include samples of other flavors (in individual cartos (in your strength) in orders, but now don't do it if you use a coupon. So a short-sighted or badly-implemented profit motive may be at work.

I admit they have me hooked on coupons, and thus their regular prices are WAY high, and I will wait a long time for a 30-40% off coupon. I won't use the stupid "Wheel" gambling coupons, and a lot of times the "Beat the Clock" coupons assume we are all Midwest farmers, so if we don't order before dawn Central time, we've already missed the best price. Also, it is a horrible practice to run a lesser coupon on the first day of a run and get better every day. The folks who order early are penalized. And let's don't get into their mismanaged "Family" program.

(OK, but just for a second :
ALL they ever needed to do was: first of all, keep the regular prices steady and fair, to make coupons less necessary. Then, if they want a membership, or family, program, just charge an annual fee to be a member and hire a programmer to set it up so that members are recognized at login and see/receive a discount price after logging in. With the added ability to use the regular coupons, a secure family program is born. (The problem was the sharing of family coupon codes with others and even posting them here or on other sites.) DUH. They had no controls in place so that only family members could use the family codes, and then WE were blamed for the problem.

So, a lot of poor CS and business decisions there, but still good products.

Also , Prop., you are correct that going from Ego to Dial-a-Volt is a natural progression, and here I am sitting on a ton of Ego-only atomizers. I like the duck-bill mouthpiece (and hate the drip-tip ends), so it is super sad to be unable to use what I like, and what I have paid for.

Long story short, (too late for that ), I was going to delete the original post but now I won't. You guys are adults.

I may not be back much. I kind of outgrown the need for it a couple years ago, and being relegated to NOOB status is a strange way to be welcomed back. Really, I hardly ever have much to say. At this point I would rather use the Buy and Sell forum, but am not allowed access.

Thanks again for understanding, and for your suggestions.

If you hang around share some of your vaping knowledge you'll gain enough posts and easily become a verified member and then peruse the classies as you like.

Don't beat yourself up too much about a Vendor, seriously, there are so many out there and you can pretty much get 808 stuff from a number of others and ego's are pretty much the standard item. Quite a lot of vendors now have facebook / twitter coupons that give just the same kind of discounts you've been getting, there is nothing wrong with shopping around.
Customer loyalty doesn't seem to count for much these days anyway.

Yes, you are right.

Rawr has a lot of peach flavors. I saw they also have green tea, which reminded me how I used to really like black tea. Is anyone still making that? Also is anyone offering duckbill mouthpiece stuff for the 808's?

Wanted to mention that 808 and 901 are usually (always?) interchangeable.

Also that V4L has not responded my email. So, again, you are right.

Just for the curious, I received my "dial-a-volt" from the other company. It is called iGo Revolver from nhaler and the large size was $28. It is exactly the same product. I was a little concerned just about whether it would have the same soft feel on the barrel, and it does. So, I am cheered up, and I will be trying some new peach soon. Starting with Rawrvapor. Change is good.

Now, if someone knows where some duckbill (or whatever they are called) carts can be found, my vaping life will be momentarily complete.

Edited to add: the iGo Revolver WORKS with the Ego carts! Even better!!

By duckbill do you mean these?

If so, also known as whistle tips, you can get them anywhere. I found those at DiscountVapers

Thank you. Whistle tip, or flat tip. That's right!
they look like a duckbill to me.

after reading all the responses here it really helped me. I found 808 clearomizers and a whistle tip (non-drip-tip) that fits them at Welcome to SmokTek, LLC - The Better Smoking Alternative - Your source for personal vaporizers, e-cig supplies and e-liquids
I don't like the drip tip style because they are harder plastic. Why drip into a tank or clearomizer anyway, just refill when it gets low... Just my personal preference. I would still like to find this in something made for 3-5 volts, and also find one that is not made for ego, so it would fit on the dial-a-volt.

QUESTION: will an 808 echo clearomizer fit on a dial-a-volt?

but the stuff at smoktek will work with the revolvers from nhaler since they have the ego top. Also spoke to CS at smoktek and he was really nice and helpful. Love the prices and the shipping charges are based on weight and totally reasonable. So I feel like I did a good thing posting here. I will try the peach at Rawr, and these items from smoktek. I was so long using VforL that I didn't know where to find stuff. So glad to put them behind me.

thank you all. Please let me know if you find this product (808, 901) made for the higher voltages. Otherwise, I think I am in good shape for now.

btw, I am allowed to post in the grown-up forums now, and did post this last request under the title: Looking for a unicorn

best wishes
