I'm 77 years-old, and had been smoking since I was 13 (64 years). I found e-cigs this last September and haven't looked back. It wasn't long until I started looking into this whole vapor thing, and got some 808 Clearomizers and other stuff.
I became a member of the forum in the middle of October, but hadn't been on a forum for years and was bashful. Finally got the nerve up today. The info. available on this forum is amazing! Even though I haven't been posting 'til now, I've been reading the forum every day. I can't wait to participate with the crew! Thanks to all for being here.

Welcome and congrats on switching

My neighbors best friend is a solid pack a day smoker that they want me to switch over to vaping. I have sat down with him and shown him all the options (I have them all) from cigalikes to mods (my Vamo intimidates him???) but he is being extremely resistant to vaping in general and uses the argument that he his 70 and why try to learn something new. However I am the one who taught him how to use his computer (at his request), his smartphone (which I don't have one myself), and his new HD home entertainment system (which requires multiple remotes because he thinks a harmony remote is too complicated??? - it has buttons labeled "watch a movie". I have my dad's programmed to open the dvd drawer so he knows where to put the disk)

so good for you to be open minded enough to switch to a less harmful alternative

I figure that if I give up on learning something new, I'll be ready for the "Bone Yard" Back in the '50s I was an electronic tech in the AirForce. I'm very interested in learning to build coils, and have been reading every thing I can find, watching videos, and getting more hardware. I'm also aware to not go too fast until I have more experience. In other hobbies, I have jumped in and bought things that time proved that I would never need. Thanks for your reply; I know I'm going to enjoy this.
