I read it, haven't the foggiest what it means.

If he has a battery, why would a tank cost $100 ?
Is he just asking for a tank that could run on a 6V battery ?
If he doesn't have the battery, what does the 6v thingy apply too ?

So, I just tossed out a suggestion for a first aid kit while he got up to par and did whatever that 6v thing meant ... and with an adapter his ego stuff would probably work with whatever he ended up with in the long run.

Besides, once he got to madvapes, the DIY parts section might have what he was looking for, I think all he really needs is a screw for the contact switch ?

Basically, you are suggesting an ego battery to someone who was used to stacked batteries in a mechanical mod. If I was like hey, I've been using my Vamo, but it broke, you wouldn't suggest I go out and get a 510 battery kit would you? Most of his equipment was a touch out of date, but I still got the gist of what his beloved setup consisted of. It's all good if you didn't catch the drift of his thread; I just couldn't believe how many people were like oh just try an ego, like the OP was a straight up newbie.

Am I crazy, or does a Vamo have a 510 connection and can be adjusted to run up to 6 volts? As for the adjustments, once it's set up for 6 volts or whatever, you never have to mess with the adjustment buttons again, so no fiddling around if you don't want to...but you'll want to...because you CAN.

Grab one of the Puresmoker Legacy mods. Simple and bulletproof. Use it with a 510 dripper atomizer or basic cartomizer while you get youe e-legs back!

Please check, but I think the Legacy is simply the most current version of the one he broke ???
It says it's a bit larger - but would the mechanical switch from the Legacy work to replace his missing switch ?

IAmThatGuy,
Here is a topic about how the puresmoker prodigy v3 compares to legacy:

seems like you would be comfortable with something you know a little about

and here is a question / answer topic on how the prodigy v3 and neweer ones compare which might be in your "language" LOL:

Well to the OP... I think you would do well with the Vamo however its likely with the pulse modulation it uses on the coils pushing it up to 6v would fry the juice in a 510 atty unless you run high ohm coils in those 510's. Even then when Im making juices I run a 4ohm 510 bridgeless dripper and I cant go past 4.5v on the bamo without my juice burning on me.

I agree with the majority here. It seems like you would need a new reliable and sturdy mechanical mod and stick with what you know. The good news is there has been a recent wild explosion in mech mods to the market this year and new ones coming out seemingly everyday.

The KTS mechanical mod also known as the KTS telescopic storm, would be a good choice. Its not as solid as what you had before but it can be purchased for under $35.00 stateside, and under $20 on fasttech.com.

Its telescopic, will accept 18350, 18490/18500, and 18650 battery sizes. Panasonic high drain, or other li-mn batteries like efests or mnke's are afer chemistry and perfect for mechs. I personally like the protected panasonic ncr18650a for my KTS. They have an 8amp limit and can handle 1ohm coils just fine.

One thing of note. We really dont know still what ohms you vape at or if you recoil your own attys. But I think any good mechanical, and there are aplenty, will get you back in the saddle quick.

Welcome back!!! Yes things have changed for sure. To get by get a ego twist or spinner and it will take 510 cartos, then do some searching for a higher end mod/APV. Provari would suit you well, maybe see what is in the classies. I also use ego type batts daily since they are so handy. I mostly use use cartos, a few clearos but cartos are still my go to delivery system.
And yes it's not recommended to stack batts anymore, more of chance to have a melt down. Altho I know some still stack, I don't because of the safety issues. Have fun shopping! bnrk

While stacking batteries is not the safest, it seems the OP has been doing it for years. I would recommend a telescoping mechanical mod. That way you can still use your rcr123a batteries in it. It will probably rattle a little, but it would work until you got enough 18350 to last.
The K101 is a nice cheap telescope mod and has a bottom button like his old one.

Honestly, I would think about switching to a low resistance 510 cartos and IMR 18650 batteries for the mechanical mod. It is much safer and will give you close if not the same "hit" as 6v with 3.5ohm carto that you were using. Both of them equal 10 watts.

Thank you so much to everybody who has posted! I'm so glad to see the old e-cig forum is still full of the same sense of community it had back in 2010 when I started here! :D YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

Part of what I loved about the V3 was what a rock-solid piece of hardware it was. A solid machined stainless steel tube is virtually idiot proof, even for a clumsy lunk like me: I have broken off literally dozens of attys and cartos right at the threads by dropping the big guy on floors, roads, sidewalks, and in one memorable occasion, out of my car window! I used to sit on my pen-style 510s and break them in half on a weekly basis. :D My Dad used to say if he left me and an anvil in the desert and came back in a week, the anvil would somehow be broken. Well, my V3 is covered in marks, dents and scratches and yet not once in the last 3 years did it ever cease to run like a top until the screw went. I've been through 4 cell phones and 2 laptops in that period due to the same kind of treatment.

I'm heavily leaning towards the Legacy at the moment for the following reasons:
1) Same steel tube construction as my V3, thus likely to last another 3 years in my clumsy hands.
2) I'll be able to use my RCR-123As, of which I recently purchased a 12-pack (at some expense) and still have 8 that have never seen use.
3) Takes 510 threads, so I can use up my remaining stock of 510 dual coil Mega-length cartos (which run at the standard 2.5Ω). These have produced excellent results for years at 6v without trouble, although they require frequent dripping with a 70:30 PG/VG mix and a careful eye on never letting it run dry, even for a split second (or it'll burn the carto filler up in 3/4ths of a second).

Does this seem like a logical thought pattern? Or did I botch the logic train somewhere along the way?

Thanks again, from a Befuddled and Grateful Vaper
