Today started out terrible. Computer cpu cooler died.. had to send it back.. motherboard died while dissablembing...

But at least 9 new ejuices vape mailed in so i got that going for me. That halo cafe mocca takes the pain away a bit.

Well that's not nice - computer problems. Repair costs cuts into the vaping budget. :(

Yeh well if im lucky ill get a refund on the cpu cooler.. then the cost wil be even :p. Tip for everyone.. dont buy a closed circuit watercooler... no way to mod a pump failure.. ill have a air cooler from now on.. at least u can just slam a new fan it when it fails.

I have a Noctua. I can't think of the model number right now, but it has 2 140mm fans. My 3.1 gh cpu runs at 31 deg. As far as I know, the Noctua fans will last as long as my mo bo/cpu.

I almost went water cooled, but for the price and reliability, it's hard to beat a Noctua. BTW, the model I have No. is NH-C14. I got mine from NewEgg. My mo bo was $300, and the CPU another $300. I don't like part failures like from pumps, which do fail!

Had a zalman reserator 3 .. ran at 40 full load till the pump said poof

I'm back, I guess. Long two weeks. First my daughter came up to help us start moving, but the weather turned sour and we all ended up spending the night at the new house. So, as long as we'd done that there didn't seem to be much point in staying at the motel any longer so we ended up kind of grabbing whatever seemed most important and hauling it over. Part of what we liked about this house is that it came partly furnished, but that's partly, not completely, so we're in a sort of odd limbo, with some of their stuff and some of ours.

We decided to take the money and clean our stuff ourselves. Of course the insurance folks had to give us dire warnings about not being "professionals", but Jim did disaster recovery for a while a number of years ago, and my daughter has had her own cleaning business for the last 10 years, so I trust their skills more than the cleaning company that did the estimates. Especially living in an area where unemployment is so low that I really don't think that hourly cleaning jobs are attracting the best and brightest.

The problem with all of this is that we need to clean everything as we move it, which kind of slows things down. That and the fact that the snow is too deep to get any of the large things out of the old place, and the spotty assortment of furnishings in the new place, means that every time we try to do something we're missing a tool or utensil or ingredient. But it is starting to come together.

We've got two of the cats here, and picked up the dog today, but the third cat is hiding out at the old house:(, which means we're heating a two story house to keep one cat warm. We know she's there, the food is being eaten and the litter box used, but she won't come out in the open even for freshly opened canned food. Our next step is going to be closing off parts of the house with food and water in each area, so we can at least narrow down the amount of area to search.

So what started this whole rambling post is that I'm really an introvert, and have had to be around too many people during the last month, what with motels and insurance adjusters and estimaters and realtors. Followed by a week of my daughter being here, followed by a week of Jim's mother being here (both helping, but still here 24 hours a day) and finally I'm sitting all by myself in my (almost) own living room. Ahhh. :)

I have to admit that part of what I love about the internet age is that I can usually do almost all of my shopping and "socialising" in the privacy of my own home. I've been on my biggest ever shopping spree without having to leave the house, and now that I've had a chance to catch my breath I can chat with my friends all over the country without having to take my slippers off or put my outdoors clothes on.

And without having to conform to the schedules of all of the morning people. In the midst of all of this I did manage to get a new MVP, and I'm kicking back and enjoying the quiet.

Oh bless your heart. You have really been through some trying times. I admire your attitude so much. And bless your cat's heart too. That is just so sad. I hope you catch him/her soon. I bet he/she is scared to death. (I'm a animal person if you can't tell) I'm glad you have the mvp. I love mine. It last a long time and I think you deserve a long vape. Happy thoughts for you and your family.

I mostly learned my attitude in reverse of my mother's. When I was 17 I was listening to her get all upset because a cab was late and we might miss a train. Suddenly a little lightbulb went on in my brain. There was nothing she could do about the cab. If it got there on time, then there was nothing to worry about. If it didn't get there on time, then we would need to make arrangements to stay in town. Either way, there was no point to being upset.

Ever since that night I have made a point of trying to not get upset about things that I can't change. I try to put my efforts into dealing with the things that I can. I'm not perfect at it, but life is sure more pleasant and enjoyable when I can concentrate my energy on actually doing things instead of getting upset.

Wow - that's a great attitude to have, I'm sure it's helpful dealing w/ your current situation. Yeeks! I hate to even suggest it, but did you think about putting water and food in a have-a-heart cage trap to catch the sneaky cat? I wouldn't want to do that to one of our cats and freak them out - but it would at least let you get the cat to your new place.

Amoret, so glad to hear that things are moving along, even if they are hectic. As long as people are there progress is being made. Maybe you could put a have-a-heart trap at the house with some food in it to catch your kitty? Poor thing. Your pup and cats must be so happy to be with you again!

Love your attitude! Yep, you're smart to save your energies for things you really can change. I am in awe of you though, given what you've had to deal with this winter. I'm sending calm, happy thoughts your way!

I agree with the rest on trapping the cat. Animal control, local pound, or humane society should be able to loan you one of those cages. If you were to just abandon her, in that climate if she were to live until spring, she would go feral, and be just one more pest on the landscape.

Glad you have family qualified to clean up. That extra money is good.

Happy that you have an new house, even though moving in midwinter is not fun.

AHA! Now we know who really wrote the "Serenity Prayer" :2cool:

Sounds like you might be on the right path to reclaim the third kitty. Are there rooms you can be absolutely certain she's not in, and just close them off to start? With all the "excitement" (terror!) of the fire, and then the (to her) abandonment, she's no doubt really out of her comfort zone... Maybe trying to set up some one place that's a close to normal as possible might help to reconnect. Good luck!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I'm like the Peanuts character... "I like humanity... it's just PEOPLE I can't deal with!" :D

I *like* being a hermit... mostly... ;)
