England has solicitors and barristers. If I'm not mistaken, solicitors handle routine legal matters and barristers argue before the court. There are lots of solicitors but a limited number of barristers. You have to have a barrister to sue. To become a barrister an opening has to occur (i.e. an older one has to retire or die). Therefor there aren't near as many lawyers to be involved as there are here and the liability laws aren't as bad. Plus English law is very different than American law.

Maybe that's our problem. We have too many lawyers, all vying for victims.

Wonderful Tribute Willie. The sound is fine on this laptop, but for some reason awhile back it quit playing sound on any youtube videos. I'll have to use the Roku later to look these up and play them. Thanks also for the reminder that yes...many go, but also others come along. Man Keith looks rough, but I reckin I would too if I was 138  Maybe I'm nuts, but he actually seems to look better now than he did in his heyday, despite all the wrinkles, those just add character.

Beautiful Tribute Uncle! I had the pleasure of seeing Barry Gibb at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville last year. Seeing Staying Alive done Bluegrass style with Ricky Scaggs was awsome! Ha Ha Ha Ha stayin' alive! stayin' alive!

I love both of these, but wow, can't imagine them together. I even loved Andy Gibb. I never cared much for disco, but loved the Bee Gee's and a number of years ago, my son even started liking them. They were very talented. So....take that all those folks that made fun of me for likin em! lol

We were in a store the other day, which one does not really matter, but these two ladies had a child with that was quite unruly. While the child was running around recklessly it bumped into a display. The display held, but the child fell back on his backside - the ladies got quite upset at the store about the child getting injured by the store display - at least 3 higher level employees had to come out, take an official accident report and apologize over and over again... They left after this and the child, who was not injured noticeably was still running recklessly around the store all the way to the exit.

When they were taking the report they asked the child where they were injured - the child looked at I assume his mother and then looked down to his left side and then his right side and finally pointed to his left side (he hit his right side - seen by another customer standing right by the display he bumped into)... grrrrrrrr

Couldn't make myself like this post. This sort of thing makes me madder than a wet hen! When I was doing my stamping, there was a woman on facebook that made a post actually blaming the store for the fact that her 2 yr old had taken all the sweaters off a display and dumped em in the floor. The store didn't provide buggies. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Made me wanna whoop the mama!

That was interesting about the barristers, didn't know that. Chalk that one up to the Brits. When my ex was a prison guard, he was telling me about one of the inmates that sued the state because he ordered creamy pnut butter at the commissary and got chunky instead. They have free access to a law library and too much time on their hands. Tons of frivolous law suits come from that sector.

What an awesome series of posts! And what a sad day to lose one more that was obviously such a major influence in our generation. There are so many gone now. But we have soooooooooo many left! Thanks for the memories, UW!

I love Joe Cocker's music. I you haven't seen him perform unique doesn't quite describe him. Kinda looks like he's having a grand mal seizure on stage. He will definitely be missed. RIP Joe.

I listened to Cocker all night long. His music had so much emotion. Got me all teary eyed. Or it could be from the smell of Lysol in the air. Hubby was sick all weekend, son is now sick. And who do you think is going to be next? I don't know either cause I'm gonna put my foot down and refuse to get it. I'm tough as a $2 steak. (positive thinking at work here) Daddy gave us our Christmas money last night. Guess he doesn't want to be around us either. Wow, Christmas is going to be wonderful this year. Not that it was going to be a Normal Rockwell kind of year anyway. Hubby got upset because I spilled a whole Keurig coffee thing full of water all over his papers and books. Looking back now, it was probably not a good time to remind him of how many times I had asked him to move it. I made a mental note to refrain in the future. Now that I think about it. . . he made some gestures that resembled Joe Cocker.

Well, ya'll have a great cup of coffee and a wonderful day. Hugs 2 all.

I love the Acura commercial with the little widget in the box that pops out and builds into a car when placed in the driveway. "... and that's how Santa get it into his sleigh, son." Really cool animation. As a graphic designer I appreciate good artwork when I see it. Doree gripes when I admire commercials, she thinks watching them is a huge waste of time. I, on the other hand, appreciate the talent and work that goes into them.
