Hey, who's side are you on?

<chuckle> Reality's?

I've 'warned' my girls that I'm 'bout ready for them to do a pre-will selection and haul-off process. At least I'll be 'round to give some meaning for some of the items we've 'collected' and they may want. My Mom left a box with a couple of photo albums of her family in Latvia that I never saw (both the albums and family). Oh how I wish I knew the story!

I foresee Patty using the mobility chair and there's no way she could get around the house through all our 'stuff'.

As an ECF flashback, here's a lil' bit 'bout my MOM. Need to add that she had two major bridges blown up after she crossed them heading to American occupied territory!

Morning Semi-

Working on my morning coffee, then meeting my cousin and his wife for lunch today.

Already got the sanding done - waiting on breakfast now - my wife says I have to earn my breakfast (LOL - just kidding in case she reads this post)... :D Got my first cup down and then started sanding while I sipped the second.

Enjoy your lunch. We got XMas gift cards for Outback - planning on using them Thursday to bring in the New Year the right way...

You guys! It's a disease!! You're stuck in the past and you'll never appreciate the new memories if you keep looking back. You really don't need to save EVERYTHING to take with you. Maybe Semi is starting to get it - an ultimate collection (we'll have to check with Mrs. Semi to find out). An individual piece will bring back the same memories - you don't need every little piece. It's all stuffed in boxes and buried under other stuff in the back of a closet or in the basement etc. so how important can it be if it's hidden? And for all the other stuff, maybe this will help. I have it hanging on the refrigerator for both of us.

    Helpful Hints for Organizing, Dummies.com
    Use the W-A-S-T-E technique.

Are you consumed by clutter? Deciding what to pitch or keep is simple if you work through those questions, and be honest:

W = Worthwhile? Do you truly like the item?
A - Again? Will you use it, really?
S - Somewhere else? Can it be borrowed or found somewhere else if you need it?
T - Toss? Will the world end if you get rid of it? Could someone else be helped?
E - Entire? Do you need the whole thing or just part of it?

What brought this home for me was when I started my job at our Middle School and one of the teachers had just gotten a call that her remaining parent died. She spent the next several weeks cleaning out the house. She came in one day, exhausted and exasperated, pointed her finger at the group of us and said, "If you love your children DO NOT DO THIS TO THEM! Get rid of that stuff that nobody else cares about". Her parents had saved everything, even had her elementary school report cards - all of them! One report card would have been enough if it was that important to them. Then it's even more valuable and not a burden. It's hard to do, but if you can get your head adjusted getting rid of stuff, it's very satisfying. It unclutters your brain too!

I will offer my apology in advance, Janet .. although I'd be happy to have you as a sister, I must side with my bro Mike on this issue .. while I agree that your Kindergarten artwork and first diaper may be a bit much .. ;) .. the tactile feel of some things saved over the years is both a comfort and a time capsule of a life lived .. My personal guitar collection numbers around 30 (which may sound excessive to many, however, is really quite a small collection compared to some folks) .. and it goes back to one of the few I owned back in the 1960's that did not end up in a Pawn shop in order to feed an addiction ..

Using your "list" I would only qualify for : W = Worthwhile? Do you truly like the item? .. and, as we all know, a person can only play one Guitar at a time as well .. then add in the related and associated equipment that goes with .. the gear, IOW .. and suddenly, you have a room full of stuff ..

My final question would be your opinion on Womens Shoes .. ?? ;) ... while I feel sure we have no Imelda Marcos here (or maybe we do) .. ;)

Wow this gal just won 87K worth of cash and prizes on Wheel of Fortune.

So your why that damn show is still on! :D

Sent with no malice and not a whole lot of forethought from my new Galaxy Tab 4. Thanks Santa!

I generally leave the workshop around 6 PM every day .. I'll flip the news on and rustle up some dinner while it plays .. after hearing the Drones and Talking Heads recapping the trials and tribulations of the day (news these days, to me anyway, has turned into semi-info-tainment, where is Cronkite when you need him .. ??) .. Wheel comes on as I sit down to eat .. so, that makes me the other half of the viewing audience by default .. Leggs and I are an Army of Two .. ;) .. the dude that solved the puzzle with One Frickin' Letter last week .. ?? I'm beginning to wonder if the show is rigged .. ;)

But Vanna is still pretty hot .. :)

Those LG's are only $8.49 at RTD. Was thinking of getting somemore. I use about 10. Don't yu just hate it when you dan't think of a word? I use 10 and I switch off which one I am using cycling through them all. Can't think of the word.

I hate it when I lose words too. It's especially embarrassing when I do it with people at my work.

Is the word you're looking for *rotate*?
