We're still waiting to hear back from the insurance on how much it's going to cost. Our co-pay is only 20%, so I guess we'll see.
I'm sure you know what all is available to you, and not gonna ask what your situation is...... but just tossin this out for you to do whatever with. If she is on disability I would think that medicare might pick up your co pay as a secondary. Maybe not.......but there is also a chance that some other group will. Particularly if this is new it's likely to in the many thousands a month. Hope not, but it could be. I hate that you'd have to pay out of pocket for any of this.

I usually call her only when I am feeling good. I apologized to her, and she said that I am welcome anytime. She just started a social work curriculum, and I saw some skills there! :D
Awesome that you have her to talk with........and very kewl she's showin some skills.

I can handle ghost pepper salsa
Respect!! It makes me feel are warm and giddy inside each time you say how much you love your mama!!!

Yeah, we'll look into any programs that she may be eligible for if needed. She is not on disability and doesn't qualify for Medicare or Medicaid. My insurance from work does have a "max out of pocket" and we reached that on January 1st. So from this point forward, anything medical is covered at 100%. That does not apply to medications though. :( She did have to take a chemo pill early on in her treatment and it was rather expensive; $8,000 for 6 weeks worth of pills (but we only paid 20% of that). Still no idea how much the new one is going to be, but we'll figure it out. We've been very fortunate; I'm not playing with Bill Gates' bankroll, but I have been able to stay afloat and keep all of the bills paid. Not really any "extra" money left over, but at least we can still eat and keep the lights on.

Hahaha! You should have seen us when she came to visit the last time my Bride was in the hospital. A 39 year old man walking through the grocery store holdin' his Mama's hand. I gotta make sure nobody steals her from me! :sneaky:

Why am I up? Oh yeah....."All hands meeting" at headquarters today. My boss might be sorry he called me to come in. :p:D

My experience with meetings like that is that some issue has already been decided and we are to discuss, guess what has been decided, and come to a consensus that agrees with the unspoken agreement. Be careful with the discussion part: someone is taking notes.

I hope you are with a better company than I was.

@Kaezziel: Have you seen the TV commercial where Patrick Warburton is shilling for National Car Rental and says something like:
"Some people say I'm a control freak. I prefer to think I'm a control enthusiast."

Something you said recently made me think of that.

As I've mentioned before, Warburton's internal thermometer needs recalibration because he takes a gulp of coffee and says "ah, a perfect 177 degrees". You can not put anything that hot in your mouth without getting burnt.
You forget Warburton changed his name, used to be called clark kent

again, not prying, just lettin ya know that she'd likely qualify right off the bat if y'all decided to apply, then she would be eligible for medicare. Probably without the 2 yr waiting period. You may know that and don't wanna,,,just makin sure ya know :)

Usually lots of talking and nothing gets said...

Yea, I used to have a bad rep for walking out on those... Or the brain storm meetings where I would come back with the problem solved while they were still discussing where to start... :?:o_O

On a lighter note, got home today to a box full of mail. In there was a box from Kenleigh's Fiber Studio. It is a needle felted Spock, my heart dog who passed on December 2014. My Best Friend Ever ordered this for me, took over a year until Shannon could get to making it. But Spock is home. This felted Spock even has some of his fur in it!!

And a funny story- with us both sick, we had a big bag of Hals cough drops on the console between us in the van. Stopped at McDonalds for a quick breakfast before we hit the road. Later I went for a cough drop - where is the bag? The bag is gone! Uh oh, yep, little Geordi the heathen got a hold of the bag, pulled it into his crate and was busy playing with/eating them! We stopped so I could pick out the drops - he was a mess with cough drops stuck all through his legs, stomach, chest and tail. His blanket was sticky with cough drops. He is still a sticky mess, guess he gets a bath tomorrow. But he's not coughing! (not that he was to begin with).

That's all well and fine when it's allowed without consequences. We had a VP call a meeting of all floorpersons and pit bosses.....one guy showed up 5 min. late and was terminated on the spot, the same thing would have resulted if anyone walked out....
