Good Afternoon Everyone. No I didn't sleep till noon, just first chance I've had to pop in and say howdy. Doree just ran to the store to get me the "Clear" things I can eat tomorrow before doing the dreaded PREP! Oh boy, I can hardly wait. One thing different than last time I had a 'scoping is the prep is only a liter instead of the dreaded gallon but, I have to do it twice. Once tomorrow night and again he next morning. Oh what fun!!!

Once, twice, three times... Nope. Wrong song! It'll be over in a jiffy, Matt, and both you and Doree will have peace of mind. Good for you for scheduling this!

I'm barefoot right now! Contemplating donning shoes and socks and heading out into the real world today though. It's been a few days.
Yesterday's high was 46. When I left in the morning, it was a balmy 37. I wore flip flops :).

Your right, but my bride thinks I should maybe go out and look for a job. I don't necessarily agree with her opinion, but in the interest of marital harmony, I might consider it.

I will now make you feel old, i was born in 71

LOL! I was born in '76... guess that makes me the kid in these parts?

But I'm not that much older, I was born in 63

When this thread was first created - I was the youngin at 55, but the non existent age barrier got busted a long time ago... We have had real youngins (20s) come through and enjoy a banter or two - if they had stayed around - none of ya'll would have to worry about bein the youngin...

Hmmm, now I got myself wondering - is not being the youngin anymore a good thing or a bad thing?:?::)

There is a gentleman at our church that his wife put up a prayer request to help him find a job about 4 years ago - to this day he has not had the courage to tell her - he is not looking...:w00t::D

Someone should put up a prayer request that the gentleman summons up the courage to tell his wife to cancel the prayer request. Then again, that might be how wars start.

Good for you. I started wearing my sandals & flip-flops the first day of spring. Haven't put closed shoes on since. Don't plan on it 'till the cold weather comes back. Oh wait it is back ... too bad ... it's spring ... no looking back.

I started wearing flip flops and sandals back in January... LOL...

While I was in the Philippines - the weather lady was talking about the cold spell that was coming in the next day and how everyone needed to get their jackets out - it was going to be 72 (hahaha - I was wearing shorts and enjoying the great weather while the locals were all bundled up - freezing... :D:lol:

A 1955 victory, oh frabjous day!
or:
A lesson in parental manipulation as taught to me by my younger brother.

I remember this event clearly and I couldn't have been more than 4 years old, and my brother Greg 3.

We two brothers were never the least bit tired when we were ordered by mom to our room for an afternoon nap. One day Greg suggested by example something new and fun to do, which was to use the mattress as a trampoline.

After a minute or two of energetic brotherly leaping, the mattress slid its way over the edge of the box spring, and that side of the mattress drooped down and touched the floor. It was way too heavy for the two of us to lift.

Mom was pregnant with our little sister and it was a major struggle for her to lift and slide the mattress back into place. Mom said, "if you do this again your father will spank you when he gets home".

The next day at nap time, Greg started jumping on the mattress again. Despite fearing for the safety of my ...., I joined in. I probably figured that I'd get blamed even if I didn't participate, but in hindsight, the mattress probably would have stayed put if Greg was the only one jumping on it.

Sure enough, the mattress came off the bed. Mom said, "OK, I told you yesterday what would happen... just wait 'til your father gets home!"

I spent the afternoon contemplating the end of the world. Greg had a plan, though.

When, out the living room window we saw Dad coming to the front door, Greg put his plan into action, though I was still cluelessly and silently saying my final prayers.

The instant the door opened, Greg went running towards Dad, shouting, "me first, Daddy! Me first!"

Mom went to the kitchen and got the dreaded wooden spoon. Dad sat down in the lounge chair. Greg pulled down his pants and went ....-up across Dad's knees without even being told to do so. After one single tender half-hearted tap on Greg's bare .... with the spoon, a chuckle forced its way into Dad's voice as he looked across the room at Mom and said to her, "honey, I just can't do it!"

Real-sounding threats continued to be made, such as: "Now don't you make me stop this car and turn around towards you in the back seat!"

But I cannot recall any of us, including the two not yet born, ever getting an actual spanking from Dad after that day.
omgggggg too funny!! You owe Greg a lot!!
