Stump pain is gone. I broke one out tooth that is and super glued it and it last 1 year the next time took it to a denturist and that was 3 years ago and still holding thats why I went back to one. Super glue is great in an emergency. I've heard the dentures in Mexico are good and cheap but if we go to visit Lissie our grandaughter I don't think I have the guts to go 5 miles into Juarez they'd probably steal my legs and kill me for them in the process. Algodonnes ok but not Juarez.

She said it was 18 pesos to the dollar. She works with people who have relatives there and go there all the time so she gets stuff through them she said like $200 shoes for 40 but she would never go there herself which I am glad for. She would be with Jacob but it is dangerous that way too. One of the highest murder rates in the world.

Well finally got an xray today so will find out tomorrow maybe. My Grandaughter got to laughin so hard today because all my bionic parts are falling apart. Last night got a tough piece of bacon and lost a tooth in my denture. Lucky enough I noticed it right away and made myself erp it back up. Got it reglued today for 50bucks. Hopefully by next friday I'll have a permanent right leg again. Now my heearing aids aren't working right have to get to the VA. I'll never get in the ear ones again. If I make it to 5 years I will get some real good behind the ear ones again. Checked on new dentures since I've had these for about 20 years and to my surprise I get a 20% discount on them at this place for being a Vet so $1050 for a full set of new teeth. An old friend called me last night he is 3 older then me at 69. He just got his all pulled and new dentures but he said the dentist tried to talk him into getting 4 implants and teeth that attached $51000. Needless to say he told them forget it, he's 69 years old and he ain't puttin that kind of money in his mouth. Dentists are far bigger crooks then doctors ever thought of being.
Wow, @2legsshrt! You're gonna be completely rebuilt soon! Ivm so hsppy you are getting all of these things handled! I know it's a real pita doing it, but bigger pita not doing it. Don't cha think?

Since I've started looking for a place to get some dental implants, I researched crime in Jaurez after reading what Legs said about dental work there. It looks like it's not nearly as dangerous as it was just a few years back. This article is a year old and speaks of a greatly reduced murder rate in the first part of 2015.

I had 12 implants installed in 2010. The 7 of them that were in my upper jaw had all loosened and come out by the end of 2013. The 5 in my lower jaw are all still there.

They couldn't pay me to go to Mexico now. Went to Tijuana in the 70s but, not now. Lawless, corrupt place. Hate it for the good folks down there.

That sux. I'm thinking about them for my uppers but now may have to nix that. Do you think it was just the skill of the guy who did them or was it the bone loss from the pulling of the teeth? I need partials in the back on both sides of the lower too.

I would say it was a combination of the two - I know several people that have implants - some had problems and others have had them for years with no problems...

I'm sure it's a case by case thing, but my dentist said the oral surgeon would first do a bone graft, and once it healed, go back and do the post. He said it added to the time (of course), but mitigates the risk of implant failure. Makes sense to me!

Ohmagosh !
We took a sightseeing route home to Los Angeles from Vegas on year with my sister...
Dropped into Algadones !
Girls hanging off the balconies hollering at Steve to come up...
Guys gesturing at me and sister to "come here"...
We walked around for about an hour and high tailed it out of there !

What an arm pit of a place !

Much prefer going to Ensenada !

Greatly reduced from the worst in the world is still pretty bad. And there's getting there and back to worry about. It only takes 1 incident that includes you and it's 100%.

Our local weather caster this morning called this Sprinter (Spring + Winter) weather. We could get a few inches tomorrow and poor Mike was looking forward to going fishing!

Morning everyone. Today is my scoping but I don't think it's going to happen. Believe it or not the prep isn't working too well. Strange but might be related to my pain meds. Tried not taking them but, that didn't work so well. Rather miss the scoping (who wouldn't?) than be in pain and withdrawal. :( The doc has my complete list of meds and you would think he would take that into account. :-x:nah:
