I have an Amazon Prime membership which seems really good so far. We watch Amazon channel a lot so we actually get our moneys worth there and I am not a big reader but they had 3 months free of Amazon Audible and 3 free books. That works out well because there was only 2 that I really wanted to listen to. I only buy products that are Amazon Prime qualified and have never had a problem and free 2 day shipping. To me it was well worth the $99 for 1 year. I am not experienced with online shopping either except for vape gear and juice which I have done extensively and never had a problem except with stuff coming from Germany, UK no problem and got all the stuff from Germany which one took a month but that was on the USPS. I ordered 50 30ml plastic bottles for $18 they are excellent. I don't know anything about ordering things that are not Amazon Prime which I think Amazon stands behind so I have nothing to complain about. The video is worth the price a lot of stuff not on Netflix but they do have one little trick with that. You can watch 5 seasons of a show and really get into it and get to the 6th and they want $15 to watch it which burns me up at times. We just wait till it becomes free except for Downton Abbey which we had to see.
I second that. I also pay 9.99 a month for Kindle unlimited. I definitely get my monies worth there to. :)

Well I'm halfway there. Stopped for the night near the GA/SC line. This is where Doree and I stop almost every time we drive down to Florida. Best Western with a Denny's attached. Also get a free breakfast at Denny's.:)
Can't beat the price on that. Grand slam for free.

Hell, normal conversation would violate the noise ordinance. You would be in real trouble if you had to call your kids or dog.
I'm picturing a bunch of retirees mowing their lawns with those old style rotary mowers.

Not to whip a dead horse but...........
Back charge the purchase? I'd stay on Amazon about the shipping charge. Every. Day.
Thank you for your support and suggestions :thumb:. (Final outcome at the end of this post .)

That's true. I'm also a member of Prime and I select the prime filter before I even start shopping. Everything labeled prime, even if it's not fufilled by Amazon generally gets there in 2 days.
I appreciate your interest as well. I was offered that option (to join "Prime" at check out) but there were those "catch phrases" that send up red flags for me, "for a free 30 day "Trial Period", cancel any time." I got involved with some "Time/Life" series of something or other a LONG time ago and will NEVER forget THAT experience , threats of legal action, collection agencies and a continual flood of things I did not order & had NO INTEREST IN. Still, thanks for the words of support, Matt ;).

As far as amazon... they are very easy to return. Just click on return, say "not as advertised". You should get a shipping label and free return shipping.
Not a bad thought and one I entertained, briefly. Once I saw how things were shaking out, taking specific notice that Amazon WAS NOT suggesting this option themselves (One would think that, to at least save face, they would have ;). I mean, here's a customer who is going to close his acct. over a $1.73 item that YOUR reps. told, "We are crediting your acct. AND we will get the seller to refund the shipping costs to your CC." , then to turn around and say, "Claim denied" and imply that I was the "sucker" for going ahead and "finalizing" the transaction (which you'll see later and I have to admit, I do bear SOME responsibility, BUT...) without even mentioning , "You may simply return the item as "Not As Advertised" and receive a full refund on that purchase."

From what I've read (and thank you ALL for your interest and support!!!) THIS IS completely out of the ordinary and NOT the norm for Amazon. I honestly don't know why things went this way in this case and would prefer NOT to close my Amazon acct. After all, with our location and the benefits of most on line shopping, it's a no brainer. Once you get a bad taste in your mouth, though..............

I'm so sorry you had such an awful experience! You absolutely are entitled to rant! Were I in Alaska, I would gladly buy you a drink :).
You would absolutely LOVE IT here! Come visit ANY TIME! You've ALWAYS got a FREE (and not Amazon's idea of "free" either! Ha, Ha!) place to stay. I'll have a Single Barrel Jack, straight up! :D

I agree with the opinion to stay on top of Amazon, and contact your credit/bank and dispute the charges. For alll that hassle, you deserve your money back and a free funnel!
As noted above, Thank you for your support and suggestions :thumb:. (Final outcome at the end of this post .)
There's no such thing as a free lunch though and I think that's what twists my "Underoos" the most. I was ok with getting charged "a little" shipping on the ENTIRE order. (Which is what I originally believed) $32 for a box that size to Alaska is actually fairly reasonable. But to get charged $32 for a 1/2 oz. package as small as that one was is COMPLETELY OUTRAGEOUS!!!

So sorry you had such a frustrating time with Amazon. I've used them a lot and have never had a problem like that. In fact, they usually go out of their way to take care of any problems immediately. I usually buy items fulfilled by Amazon, but not always. I wouldn't buy anything coming from China though if I noticed that's where it was coming from. I'd contact Amazon again and let them know the shipping charge has not been taken care of.
Ya, LIS, this seems to be an anomaly. Just as a point of interest, you'd be surprised how many of "their" items come from China (and most of what we buy off the shelves right here in the good ol' USA). It was also mentioned earlier that "It came "all the way from CHINA"." Well, it turns out that Anchorage Alaska is "The Crossroads of the World and MOST of what gets to the Western US from Eastern Europe & Russia & China, comes through Anchorage first. (Check a globe for reference). Now, I can't see Russia from my kitchen window (har, har) but both Russia and China are nearly as close to us as Seattle, Wa.!!!

I admire Von's attitude about the whole thing but wish Amazon would straighten things out.
Thank you "bells". I appreciate your kind words and thoughts as well.

Here's a direct copy & paste of the first "denial" and the one I received this morning after pursuing the issue for three full days!

    Hello,
Your A-to-z Guarantee claim for this order has been denied:
    Order ID: 110-6696452-3161842
Shipping costs are not covered by the A-to-z Guarantee as they are available for review at the time of order confirmation and are binding once confirmed. All sellers on Amazon advertise their shipping rates prior to purchase.
For many sellers, purchasing multiple items may result in multiple shipping charges as rates are based on shipping a single item.
This order is not eligible for a credit, as shipping costs are not covered under the A-to-z Guarantee for an item received within the estimated delivery date and is not materially different than advertised.

    DONE & DONE!!!
Too much of my valuable time (and yours. Sorry about that ;)) has been wasted on this already. I do want everyone to be aware that I had this experience, that while Amazon seems to work well most of the time, for most of you, there are instances that can not be overlooked. I, personally can NOT do business in this type of atmosphere and caution all of you to be careful in the future. Thank ALL OF YOU again for your comments, interest and support.

    GOOD BYE AMAZON! :nah:
    HELLO JET!!!
(Love their "purple heads exploding" commercials ! Hopefully they'll "blow MY mind" too!)

Yeh, me too. Not surprised though. Got to remember that there are more old farts per square mile in Florida than any other state as far as I know. They don't call it "God's waiting room" for nothing!

I don't have a whole lot of problem with it either. Most guys just think it's weird though so I tend to avoid the "man hug." ;)
I couldn't help picking up on this. How many have noticed that it is a MAJOR PART of being in or hanging around a M.C. (Motorcycle Club). I'd say if "Big, Bad Bikers" don't have a problem with "it" why should anybody.

Not quite but, what they do pay for is plenty. Eggs, sausage, hash browns and a couple of pancakes. That's enough I think. :)
Yessir! That sounds like a pretty hearty breakfast to me (and I eat A LOT! :w00t:)

Wow! The whole 60db thing kills me too! I can picture song birds, wood peckers and neighborhood dogs being fined and arrested! 80 db is considered "normal" highway traffic noise level (why Harley had to meet that level under DOT standards). Sounds like you'd better have brought along your crepe soled shoes!
Should be interesting................. I'm sure all ya'all will make the best of it though ;).

Congrats Von Vape! Nice going!
Thank you, Mike! It really has been EASY!!! Most of the time we both actually vape MUCH LESS than we sucked on the stinkies. Sure there are days when I'm more like a HOOVER vacuum on the Subvod but there's ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST in "the stinks" since DAY ONE!
