Thanks. Me too. I think it'll be ok. Be a terrible joke if I survived lung cancer with one of the earliest detections any of my doctors have ever seen only to be taken out by something up my pooper! :D Not worried. Doesn't really run in my family at all. :)

I'm just glad that you get the tests done... colon cancer didn't run in my wife's family either, but she still got it. There are a lot of factors besides just genetics. Apparently eating a lot of red meat puts one at risk. But if you've had no signs in the last 4 tests, then I'm sure this one will go equally well... still, prayers don't hurt nothin'! :)

{{{{Kaz and his Bride}}}} - While I'm not happy to hear the findings of the tests it's great to hear that your Bride no longer has to have the chemo. The other medication sounds much better. I've gotta say that you both have an attitude is inspiring. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Matt - Yep, I've had a couple of those and you're right, the prep is the problem and even that's better than it used to be. And this is one test that you feel better afterward than when you go in.

LittleBird - Yes! Food is love and hugs!

Roto - I love maroon, or dark cranberry or cabernet - whatever it's called.
Sorry to hear you have to go all the way in for a meeting, but hope it's going to be worth it to bring you some good news.

Old Broad - Wow, the accommodations sound great! You might even look forward to having the other hip done! Sorry to hear you're not feeling so great right now though.

They tell me Spring is here - so why is it 27 degrees outside with a 19 degree chill factor!! It looks lovely outside till I open the door. No wonder our birds are all puffed up.

That's what apps like Hangouts and GoToMeeting are for. 21st Century Tech but, bad news is better delivered in person. Just praying it doesn't effect Roto personally.

Jup hope it's not bad news period. and yeah for managers I agree they could use one of the tech things, but unfortunately most non fancy restaurants have some folks that barely speak english, much less have a lot of tech.

Think ill pass on this game

Saw what ya did dere!

After dinner we went to the park and wore them out. The little one is freaking fearless.

Who wore whom out? I just can't keep up wid my g-kids anymore!

Ia very new oral-dose drug that was just released last summer. She'll be taking the new one. The studies have shown that it is very promising and has given Stage IV patients as much as an additional year of time. It was made clear to us that this is not a cure, but is a measure to extend our time. How much time is unknown (so, nothing new there). Basically, I guess not much has changed except that we aren't going to be doing the IV chemo any more and we're pretty happy about that. The oral-dose chemo will be less hassle (no more 1+ hour drives for treatment).

Other than that, we're both working very hard at not dwelling on it and just trying to enjoy our lives as they are. So, prayers and hugs are appreciated, but no more sadz... be happy, love the ones you are with while you have them, dance in the rain, play in the snow (just don't eat it if it's yellow!), and bask in the sunlight... Today is the present and that is all that matters. It is a gift and each day should be cherished. Now go love somebody! :)

Kaez, glad to hear your bride won't have to endure the chemo IVs!

It's remarkable how far medical science has advanced in cancer treatments in recent years.
Huge hugs and many prayers...

Whew...just got thru all the posts:) it sure doesn't pay to get behind!

I'm now a happy camper.... at the pre-op seminar today they told me that i could go to the 1-2 week extra physical rehab that's right in the hospital. The one to two weeks stay depends on how well i do daily, I could leave sooner! So, if I'm a "good girl" and do everything they tell me, the stay might be shorter...Yay! that should be around the middle of May...which is playin' in the dirt time!:rickroll:

Oh...and i get to wear "slouch around" clothes! Sweats, t-shirts, shorts, CAFTANS!!:D

And a private "bedroom" with bathroom also! And a recliner! And a flatscreen tv!:rickroll:

Now if it only had a hottub I might just sluff off on doing the exercises so i could stay longer....:D
Now, dat's what I'm tawkin bout!

Ok you Floridians might not get it ... but some of us will.

Spring%20Forward_zpsh63zmnwt.jpg

Oh, I understand it; that's why I'm a Floridian now! :)

Who wore whom out? I just can't keep up wid my g-kids anymore!

Sure it does! It's my fav color.

My grandbabies leave me worn out, but while I'm with them, my energy is high.......have a playdate with them later this afternoon just for a few hours.......so, it will be another 'early to bed' night for Gracie.

@Rotowoman Burgundy, cranberry, maroon are all top favorites of mine!

Oh, ETA that Villanova won the National Basketball Championship! YAY!!!!

Thank you! Well, to be honest, the new drug is still chemo. Pretty much the same side effects as the chemo that she was previously on. Only real difference is that she won't have to go down to the hospital to have it administered. It has shown to be very promising in testing though, so we're hoping that it'll be more capable of controlling the tumor growth. We're still waiting to hear back from the insurance on how much it's going to cost. Our co-pay is only 20%, so I guess we'll see... we had to go through a mail-order specialty pharmacy because the pharmacy at the hospital doesn't work with our insurance. If all goes well, we should have it by the end of the week and she'll be able to start it on Monday.

As for attitude:  That's just 'cause I don't share my bad moments very often... I wanted to pull people over and strangle them in traffic today! My Beautiful Bride does her best to keep me on da straight and narrow, though. :)

Now... go give Mike a hug. :)

Yeppers! Even with the port implant, she had to get stuck every time we went in for treatment. :( Needless to say, I'm pretty happy that she won't have to endure that with this new regimen. Still not sure just how much it's going to affect her, but I'm pretty sure that it can't be any worse than what she's already endured. Thank you so much for the hugs and prayers! Now, do me a favor and go hug your Beautiful Bride. :)

@Kaezziel: Have you seen the TV commercial where Patrick Warburton is shilling for National Car Rental and says something like:
"Some people say I'm a control freak. I prefer to think I'm a control enthusiast."

Something you said recently made me think of that.

As I've mentioned before, Warburton's internal thermometer needs recalibration because he takes a gulp of coffee and says "ah, a perfect 177 degrees". You can not put anything that hot in your mouth without getting burnt.

A little bit daily will probably be easier on her than a whole lot at a time.

I actually called my daughter to vent the other day when I was feeling particularly low. I usually call her only when I am feeling good. I apologized to her, and she said that I am welcome anytime. She just started a social work curriculum, and I saw some skills there! :D

Of course we are going through the same thing, so that helps.

HA! I haven't seen that commercial, but I'm definitely going to have to remember that quote! Thanks, Bells! :D

 Yeah, I usually put a little bit of ice in my coffee to cool it down to a drinkable temperature a bit quicker... I can handle ghost pepper salsa, but a spoonful of hot soup will bring a tear to my eye. Apparently my mouth is very temperature sensitive, but not very spice sensitive. Who'da thunkit?

Very true... Too much at once is never a good idea anyway. ;)

I usually call my mama when I need to vent. She does the same with me. We both have a knack for making the other laugh when we need it. Besides, there are so few people that really "get" me and I'll admit that I can be a "Mama's boy". I love my Mama... so what.
