<shudder> asked my dil to get some folgers at the store......there was a crowd. She let her 6 yo sneak between folks and grab some....... she got breakfast blend. Yuckkkkkk I'm grateful to be able to have coffee more now, but life is just too short for BAD coffee!!

I think they do cattle as well.
But yes they grew peanuts.

In a brief Internet search, I wasn't able to find any statement that said Borax eats through the exoskeleton of any insect. (I have read previously that diatomaceous earth does just that, but is difficult to use properly and can be very hazardous to humans.)

Statements and opinions seem to be all over the map, to the extent that it's impossible for me to determine what is true and what is BS. Here is one article that compares Borax to boric acid, but other articles have quite different opinions, and I'm not saying that this article is correct:

This brought back a childhood memory. We had a next-door neighbor when I was growing up, her name was Bessie. She used to play the piano for all of the silent films that showed at the town cinema, this was before my time. Well, Bessie, was a very heavy drinker and when she was in the hoots she would start playing her piano. She would play it for hours on end, going through the old movie scripts she could remember and she always played from memory. Even at my young age at the time, I used to sit on the front porch and listen to her. I still have a love for piano music today. A couple of my favorite CDs are of Floyd Cramer on the piano.

Well, I have my laptop one the patio with my hamster, Rex, sitting in front of me and my little dog is guarding the fence. I just set off the flea bombs in the house. I didn't know we had so many sets of sheets in the cupboard. Between them and the towels I put over everything I'm going to be doing laundry for a week.

Fleas, yeck! Tasha is on Comfortis. It is a pill that is working great. Only problem, Geordi can't take it. It will sterilize him. Don't want that! So he will be on one of the topicals or perhaps Sentinel. We treat the house and yard. I need to get more borax...

Cathy, how do you actually use borax in the house? Just sprinkle it around the carpets and such then vacuum in? Not sure how to do it. As you can probably tell this flea thing has me concerned. Especially because I'm not there to do it and I need to tell my brother in law specifically what I want done and I want to make it as easy on him as I can. I know they have a life cycle that has to be broken. Kill the adults, kill the larvae and wait for the eggs to hatch and do it again. All of you all help is much appreciated.
