@Rotowoman , nothing wrong with a quiet Christmas. I, too, can't do crowds anymore. We will go to our son's house the day after Christmas (they are on a cruise!!) and have a nice get together with in-law family, but Christmas will be quite with just the 2 of us. That's OK, I make prime rib with oven roasted potatoes and we don't have to share!!!

My sister married a guy from Pakistan and became Muslim.
We all get together at their place on Christmas ( anything for a food gathering...)...so there are not any decorations, Christmas music...nothing as to WHY we are gathered...
It's just a food and (yes) gift exchange day ( really... )

I am too dang old for stupid sibling rivalry crap - but dang it, I am tired of everyone accommodating them and THEIR ways.





And congratulations to all that are losing weight - that is awesome...but - if you ever want it back...seems I have found a lot of it...

Well, y'all, before everybody gets busy with family and whatnot, let me wish all a Merry Christmas!!

No doubt, I will be zooming out of here early on Christmas Eve Morning if all goes well. After that, I have no clue where I'll be except probably at my brother's house for Christmas dinner.

I apologize for not getting into the Christmas cheer or spirit. It has been that way for many years now for me. My mother was the glue that held the family together for Christmas, and since she has been gone, family has scattered to the winds. I think my daughter will be singing all over the place on Christmas Day. I will not see my son or granddaughters, since they are in Indiana. My youngest brother is on another planet with the psycho wife from Hell, and my sister will be trying to see her grandchildren, I guess. That leaves me and my brother, and their little household. That will be enough. I'm all about peace and quiet these days.

It's been dull as dirt here for the last few days. Our immediate boss is on vacation, and although the choppers are flying, nothing is breaking, and most important inspections have already been done. I won't complain about that since I have been working a lot, and I'm SO ready for home. I'd be quite content Christmas Day to spend the day in bed with my little animals and watch movies. However, I'd be a fool to pass up a good Cajun Christmas dinner!! So, off to the country me and the dog will go.

You should set up a Hangout time with your son & his family, Roto. I have a sister in CO that we include for a little while at every family type function. We set up a laptop on a table in a corner somewhere so she gets a wide view of the den, kitchen & livingroom so she can see all the activity & all of us fixing the meals & visiting. I'll take it outside to the porch so she gets to see the ones that drift out there, too. Makes her feel like she's here with us. She & her kids that are still home jump in & are just part of the action instead of off by themselves! It's a thought, a little face time with them would be good for you! Enjoy your time with your brother, & some peace & quiet at home!

A quick update on my grandson, Mason...

He does NOT have a detached retina. The specialists have diagnosed stage 2 COAT'S DISEASE. He'll have to return to Miami every two months for quite a while. He has no pain and can continue his normal 10 year old activities; except for one week after each treatment.

Fortunately it was detected early which leads to a cautious positive prognosis. This is the best of a bad situation.

Our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for your prayers and/or positive vibes! Y'all are truly priceless...

Not if your t-buds luv 'em!

Can't like this one and will keep the young man in my prayers.

Why the heck is it at their house every year? Rotate the duties and let them accommodate your beliefs for a while! I've been in that situation myself and feel about it the same as I do about having to have everything in Spanish as well as English. Your in America, we speak English!
