Are you preparing for a second career?
As I never tire of saying, (and people keep presenting me with opportunities to say it): if I wanted to work I wouldn't have retired.
My little brother thinks I should get a law degree, an old girlfriend thinks I should get a music degree, and my neighbor thinks there's some usefulness in telling me about good-paying temporary job opportunities.
Thanks for the compliment, but no, you're not likely to find me gainfully employed ever again. The quickest way for me to stop enjoying cooking would be for me to try to make it a vocation, or even a "serious" hobby.
I'm fair to middlin' at a bunch of things, pretty good at quite a few things, but the only thing where I'm tops in the field is in my natural ability to be me. I didn't plan to be a shiftless jack-of-all-trades, master of none, but that's the way I turned out.
When I was a kid, I absolutely craved Saturdays. I yearned for them with almost mystical reverence. Not until I retired did every day become Saturday. Carpe diem!
