Well my morning is starting off good, I went to walk into the bathroom and lost my balance and fell and my .... landed in a box of bubble wrap. Funny but not. I really strained my other leg trying to get up. Hopefully it won't hurt too bad tomorrow.

Aha! So you sort of took our advice to wrap yourself in bubble wrap! Strategically placing boxes of bubble wrap around is a good idea.

Yep that's the truth. Down the road from us it was either and Amish crew or a Mennonite crew put up a small garage for the homeowners antique car. What a great job they did. In a town not too far from us there's an 'outlet' for pre-built outbuilding/sheds built by the Amish. Pretty affordable for some nice quality good looking sheds/small barns/etc ... much nice than the pre-fabs available at the box stores.
Wow we have a group of Mennonites that own several places about 5 miles north of us. One runs the vegetable market here 1 day a week and he always has the best veggies around. He drive to Yakima and picks up the best they have to offer and sells them for less then the stores. He also has his own home grown when they are in season. He closes in the winter. And his friend has a bakery in the little town near there and the woman folk make everything. Some of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had. They also have a business building and selling small sheds or play houses. Some really fancy ones.

Yep that definately helped but I strained the other leg trying to get up. Made it tho. Ginnys broken ankle has definately hindered things. I have to do nearly everything now but since she is having an extra 2 week break this time she is feeling pretty good. Did a lot of things I normally do. She is still having trouble cause her RA is acting up in the other legs.

Today was a great day to be outside. I got half of my inside yard mowed and edged. My riding mower has needed a new blade and I have been putting off replacing it. While taking a break after mowing half the yard I decided to replace the blade. A 30-minute job. Yeah, right! Tomorrow, I will go to Wally's and get a new battery. Then maybe finish the yard, that is if it doesn't start raining like they are predicting.

I was at Rite Aid and in a Crip Spot.
I'll have you know that I find "Crip Spot" to be quite offensive. Shoot, I have dear friends who are authorized to park in Handicapped parking spaces for very legitimate reasons. :thumb:

Seriously, YOU can use that phrase and it's hilarious, but rest assured that I will NEVER use that phrase until such time that I join the club.

Any serious golfers out there? I'm not one of you, but Bob Vokey is my cousin. If you want a Vokey wedge, I can get one for not much more than full retail price. Bob is quite the practical joker. The chances of him giving you or me a free wedge are nil, but the chances of him giving you a free wedgie are excellent.

Thank you for all the Birthday wishes. Had a nice day hanging with Huxley. I'll sleep better this winter now that the 20 year old heating system has been replaced. Sheesh, this guys spent 11 hours replace the A/C & heater. The father/son team that did the work came from central PA to our area. That's only about a 2 hour drive from us but the son said it gets him every time when he comes to this area and folks call a furnace a heater. He said 'back home' if you called you furnace a heater no one would know what you're talking about.
In the Southern mind a furnace involves burning coal or fuel oil, & a heater burns electricity. Alternatives are wood stoves or fireplaces.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner. All soft drinks are Coke. Except Dr Pepper.
That's always confused me, maybe because the midday meal for us has always been lunch. Dinner to me has always seemed to be more formal and supper is the family sitting around the kitchen table for a meal. But we're from eastern PA and even western PA has different names for things - like pop instead of soda and sack instead of bag for groceries.

A funny thing happened to me yesterday. I was at Rite Aid and in a Crip Spot. A guy came up and tapped on my window and said Hey how come you are parked in a Handicap Spot. When I saw you in the store I would have never known you had prosthetic legs you walk as good as me, Way to Go. Impressive. Then he started laughing and said you really get around good on those.
Awesome!

A couple of pictures from yesterday's birthday day. Hux just couldn't get enough of my birthday cake. A Nuztorte that Janet made for me. It's made from ground up walnuts, 10 eggs, a bit of flour and sugar and, oh yes, home made whipped cream. Hux kept sliding across the table and getting a bit more with his fingers. He must had done it over 1/2 dox times before his Momma said that's enough (as he had his own slice before he started going back for more).

Around here, if we don't like the 'cast, we just ...

... look outside and use da 'rock' and string' meteorological methodology!

I have to use them. The term doesn't bother me, altho I wouldn't use it. It's one of those things I could apply to myself, but it's not cool for someone able bodied to use it.

I haven't heard the term before. However, I can see me using it. I don't always need to use one of them but I appreciate it after slowly walking around the store. I will not use one of the electric carts. If you want to do a little test to see if you are elderly fall down in a store or mall. If people laugh you are not. If people scream and run to you, Yes, you are.

For some bewildering reason, people who study space rocks are hired to predict the weather. There must not be enough meteors to go around. I figure that's why the forecasts are so frequently wrong.
It took awhile for that one to register.
