Good morning folks. Sheesh it is getting cold here at night down in the mid 30s. Ginny woke up with a terrible headache like before she was on oxygen but her nose was plugged from the O2. She got up and blew her nose and took some deep breaths of the O2 and it was gone nearly by the time she got downstairs but of course we were up at 0400 which seems to be about our normal time these days. Went back to sleep her on the hospital bed and me in my recliner for 2 more hours. Feel better now.

I must've missed something @Iffy did Patti take another tumble. I will go back thru and see if I can find out what it is. Thanks you guys for all the thoughts on this radiation. It is something we will need to find out more about.

That PA is all she has seen since the diagnosis back in May. She is basically a nurse with a Masters degree. She is also our neighbor which is handy when things come up on weekends and holidays. She said if things come up not to hesitate to call her at home she is about a block away, she doesn't make a move without conferring with the doctor but she is not a doctor.

I wonder if these tariffs that have been put on China is affecting the availability. The one I want to get is only available at one store and in limited colors. I wouldn't even be thinking of getting a new one or two but my SXminiMLs are gradually going bad on me and TC is what I like and the dna's are what I have in mind. They are accurate and have gotten easier to use and they sell cheaper then anything from YiHi which in my opinion have gotten too overpriced for a system that really isn't as good as Evolves.

I sure wish the FDA would keep their noses out of things. As soon as they brought up a couple of words Epidemic and Kids I knew there would be trouble. Wished they would think about the Adults that vaping has helped to get off of cigarettes. But the tobacco lobby is a powerful group. When you start talking money the politicians stand up and take action.

Negative, she just has a 'new' neurologist that has shown an acute interest in her condition. Her former doc retired his practice at a relatively young age to do collaborative clinical trial research work in Colorado.

Pat, my post-radiation observations of Patty are:

- general major weakness in lower body
- degradation of short term memory
- occasional minor loss of long term
- minor degradation in spatial awareness

She also has no left peripheral vision in both eyes due to the actual tumor removal.

Note, I'm not a doctor, didn't play one on TV and didn't stay at the Holiday Inn Express last night. But I have played nurse for over eleven years thus far and know my patient rather well...

@Iffy we've talked about it and decided we wouldn't do it without a second opinion at the least. It's also the way she brought it up, she asked if Dr. Kelley had gotten hold of us about having a radiation treatment on her brain. That was the first we had heard anything about it. It kind of came out of the blue and both of us were shocked by it. Never even knew that they were thinking of something like this. We would like to know more about this cancer.

Well big day today. Ginny starts Chemo again and this is the long day because they have to do a blood test, if shes ok to go then bag of anti nausea, bag of steroids, then 2 bags of the Poison to ruin the blood she had transfused. About 4.5 hours total. Not a fun day. I'm still hobbling around and I know what the answer is and that is to leave my leg off and keep neo sporin on it. Keep taking the anti biotics. But I can't do it. Will try a different place, I never heard back from the Catholic place. So will try another. We normally on this first day, me getting all the stuff we need to make it for at least a week or 2. Then when it's over on Thursday both taking a break, but I also have to have an iron infusion probably tomorrow with any luck at the same time as her chemo. I'm supposed to contact a doctor that specializes in amputee's but not sure if he takes Medicare. I don't even know if he has an office, I have his cell phone number to contact him.

OK we talked to the doctor today. The radiation is only used if she gets in full remission. No Cancer seen. Then they use it because this type of Cancer likes to come back in the brain when it does come back. And it's up to her. Then she asked the big question. How long do I have? He said on average 9 months to 1 year unless you are one of the 5% that lasts for 2 years or more. He said he thinks she is going to be one of those. I sure hope so. Got everyone praying for it. It came as kind of a shock but he was honest. He said remember thats on average.

She made a friend there. She is an Indian lady as in Native American. They got along really good. She had Cancer between her lungs and they got rid of it using Cyberknife. She continued smoking and now has it back in her lung. She is on the same schedule as Ginny. I think she is going to get her number. Her son drives her down from up around Colville where the Colville Indian reservation is, I'm pretty sure cause she says she lives 15 miles from the Canadian border. She is still smoking, I think she is maybe a little older then us. Has the same exact model and year Subaru as us. They really hit it off so when I went to Dutch Brothers I picked up a coffee for her too. She got a kick out of a couple of my jokes she said haven't heard those for years. This was her first Chemo for this and she is getting her port put in tomorrow. Ginny told her what a great thing it was to have.

Oh with this new blood Ginny is just like she was when she had her very first treatment. I hope it stays that way for this round. That would be great. She's been buzzing around like she is on some kind of upper with all these steroids. They didn't even have to give her the shot of something called something that starts with a Pr. Her HGB has to be below 10 for that and hers was 11 so thats great. I am really glad she feels so good. Amazing what some good blood does.

That's great, Legs! But of course we are praying for much longer, too!

First off, Pat, still praying for y'all!

She continued smoking and now has it back in her lung.

Any chance of a spare iStick 20 or 30 and sum coils for the lady to try? She just proves that smoking is relentless and consuming!

Have a Korean UN Police Action vet that had one half of a lung removed several years ago... yepper, still smokin'. If not fer vapin', so would I.

You know we brought up vaping yesterday and the nurses heard us and they were saying that they were just as bad. Just wait and they will find out they have things in them that are just as bad as cigarettes. I don't know if it would be a good idea or not. I thought of that also and she has a terrible cough. Ginny thought she was going to bite the big one when she started coughing once. She said its from her diabetes. I just found out from Ginny that she has lost one leg so far from it. So she did have a prosthetic on. She can walk on it but not very far. They just used the wheel chair to get her to the bathroom. We'll talk to her today. She is getting a port in this morning and treatment this afternoon.

I'd be right there with you. My Dad was a Korea Vet & I don't know how many times he tried to quit.

Look them in the eye & tell them they are wrong. Use your mean voice. I had a little talk with my Grandson the RN. It consisted of "If you don't stop lying about vaping, & shaking your head everytime I hit this pv Ixm going to wash your mouth out with soap. Hard." His Mom (my daughter) told him not to look to her for help, she hates the taste of soap.

Last week I got industrious and did some chores around the house. I was taking laundry out of the dryer and I discovered I had 3 pairs of jeans that were wrinkled, really bad. I also found a pair that was hanging on the rod above the dryer. So now I had 4 pairs that were in need of ironing. Oh well, my pain level was bouncing about a 4 or slightly above on the doctor's scale. I turned on the sound system, cranked up the volume and started jamming out on the Eagles and "Hotel California". It wasn't that long and I had them all ironed and hung up in the bedroom closet. Today, I was doing another load of laundry happy that I wouldn't need to do any ironing. I turned around looking at the ironing board and there, right near the iron was another pair of jeans in need of ironing. Dang it! Oh, well. It didn't take long to iron them and hang them up. I haven't worn jeans since Spring so I'm not too worried about it. I do have a pair of bib overalls for when I am doing weed eating and edging of the yard.
